    Missing Reel on Robert Gaskin

In the PADI OW course it would be uncommon (understatement) to mention what a pony bottle is, let alone what the protocol is if you found one underwater. At least that's the way it is around here.

    King Horn

Tom, do you have any pics of what the Kinghorn used to look like? Would be good to compare to the shape she's in today.

It was called "Drowing in Dreams".

    Gunilda/Hart trip report

The Empress was once open to legal looting. Was the Gunilda?

    Gunilda/Hart trip report

People up there make money from divers, you'd think they'd feel a vested interest in protecting that wreck.

    New Shipwreck Rules For Canada

Saying that divers are self policing sounds great, and certain (small) steps have been taken to help, but I don't believe it is true in reality. We need only look to our own backyard for evidence. The brass plaque on the Munson generator, damage to the Munson tool bench from someone colliding...

    New Shipwreck Rules For Canada

It was mentioned several times over the course of the evening by the Parks Canada reps that the current FEDERAL legislation makes it legal to remove an artifact and give it to the receiver of wrecks. This does not work in Ontario where there is different legislation in place to protect wrecks...

    Dark Descent

The book is fairly decent. Although it does contain a few tales about diving the wreck it's more about the history and controversies that have arisen around it, and less about actually diving it. The descriptions of the wreck itself leave much to be desired. I have an interest in the wreck...

    New Shipwreck Rules For Canada

For anyone interested in knowing how the first meeting went: it was attended by approximately 19 people, largely representing groups such as POW, GLUE, OUC, NDA, and SOS. There were representatives from Parks Canada and from Transportation Canada who are in charge of the Canada Shipping Act...

    Rescued Fin

I've been hearing the opinion more and more these days that Scubaboard is not what it once was (valuable). With all due respect to Doppler (a nicer guy there never was), I'd suggest a question like "How are you?" is the start of a wonderful PM conversation, but isn't something the entire board...

    Looking for Legal Content

SoScuba, you are looking to use these photos to help promote your business and generate money. Why not invest a little in getting good photos to use, and write it off as a business expense? I cannot speak for others, but for me underwater photography has required a considerable sum of money...

    Have you ever seen...

Have you ever seen a wreck with a yardarm? Have you ever seen a wreck with a yardarm IN PLACE?? I've had the good fortune of diving a wreck or two and had never expected to see such a thing - it's rare just to have the mast standing and maybe even a BIT of the crowsnest left, if you're really...

Argon is great stuff. Pretty soon everyone will be breathing it.

    Toronto viz

There are a few dives in the Toronto harbour area. The Sligo http://www.scubaq.ca/ontarioscubadiving/sligo.htm is the most common other than just a boring shore dive at Humber Bay to dive the sewer sections and toilet. People have run lines in the last couple of weeks to give you something to...

    Toronto viz

Thanks for the input folks. We decided to go ahead with the dive and had 15'-20' of viz, more than enough to get the photos that were needed. Thanks again. Tom

To rebreathe or not to rebreathe?

I know I look forward to getting a rebreather. Selecting one should be a fun process. Not sure how wreck penetration will work with it, but it's gonna be a blast finding out.

    What is it

For those who are knowledgeable about ship construction, perhaps you can help. What is this? Is it a mast or a bowsprit? It is located along the port side of the Lyman Davis, extending from off the bow to 20 feet along the side of the wreck.
