    Roatan vs Utila

Difference in topside, or underwater? Topside, yes, quite a difference. Underwater, not as much. Debatable

You must have particularly tasty flesh. It's worked very well for me over the last 5 years. I haven't needed to try the picaridin style.

    Cruise Diving in Roatan

Several of the Dive shops have later dives, such as a second dive around 10:30 and 11:30am. Also some have dives early afternoon like 2:00pm

    Roatan for Solo Traveler

I think there is merit in what Doc says. To get in that many dives, stay away from topside stuff! CCV would be my choice for you as well. Dive, eat, dive, rinse, repeat.

Roatan? Stick a fork in it.

This is quite depressing news. Mahahual mexico went thru this 20 years ago..look at it now. Look at Cozumel now compared to even just 20 years ago. Dammit....where to go now?!

We are still here. Got about 3+ weeks to go still. Always good. The reefs are changing. Some bleaching, some recovery. West End is bustling. We love it here.

Jan & Feb- the “Norther” weather patterns begin

Scuba in colder waters is amazing. Completely different experience with different critters. Yeah it takes more/different gear. But so worth it. Here in the PNW the water this time of year is typically around 47°F. Yes you get cold. But you warm up chattering about the 6 gill shark you saw, or...

We are staying a short distance from you at Casa Sierra. We like that area. Quiet but close to everything. We mostly dive with Roatan Divers which is located behind Gingers Grill.

You are going to have a great time. You picked a nice quiet location short walk to all West End offers. Good diving. Enjoy! We will be there next month.

    SeaGrape Plantation - Roatan

Yes it is. I predominantly go macro when diving Roatan. One of my favorite subjects are cryptic teardrop crabs. Plenty of great macro subjects.
