    Wounded Warriors

For those that will be on Bonaire in Aug, a group of Wounded Warriors will be there the second week of Aug to complete their open water certification. If you happen to run accross them, show your appreciation.

Aqualung Legend LX breathing too easy?

Last year I added the Legend to my gear collection. I was currently using a Sherwood Maximus and consistantly adjusted the second stage toward the "harder" side of cracking pressure. Just seems more comfortable to me. After reading about the Legend and wanting another reg, it looked like a good...

Inon lenses need a dock for A95!

I just purchased the base, WAL and macro lenses from Inon for my A95 setup but now need to put together a lense dock for them so I can take the whole thing u/w. I have no arms or strobe yet and want to know if others out there have come up with a device/method of carrying the add-on lenses. I'm...

Some so so shots from Bonaire

I had my first outing with my new A95 and thought I would share my latest pics. Not at all what I was hoping for, but at least I can call them mine. My appreciation for the the folks who can really take nice pics on this board has been elevated ten fold.

    AF assist on or off?

I have the A95 and will be shooting manual mode with auto focus on. One thing I'm not sure of is whether to keep the AF assist beam on or turn it off. Anyone out there notice a difference with the camera's ability to focus u/w with it turned off? I'm guessing distance and normal vs macro mode...

    Gilligan RIP

Don't know if our G had an attachment to Bob Denver, but I just heard of his passing and wanted to offer my condolences to his family. Too many memories of his antics on the boob tube to not acknowledge his contribution to my earlier years of laughter and fun:) RIP, Bob, and Thank You:) Jet

    How you add weight?

I have not yet had my A95 wet yet, but hear that it will be positively buoyant in the Canon case without more weight. I'm picking the brains of those that have this or a similiar setup to find a simple way to make it nuetral. (I have no add-ons) Jet

    Camera and housing choice

Lead-in: I have a Sony DSC-P10 with Sony housing and am looking to upgrade to a setup with more manual features (wb) and more easily accessible upgrades such as WA and macro lenses. Also, strobe applications will be a must. ?: What do you have, what would you change if given the $ and the...

    Uncontrolled ascent

I had my first dry suit dive of the year yesterday and got a lesson in "it can and will happen", so I thought I would share. To set it up, I was diving dry, I use my suit for buoyancy control u/w, was at a familiar dive site I have dived many times with a buddy who I know well and knows me...

    No Fly List.

There is now a No Fly list in place that flags certain people during airline checkin depending on their name. Anyone on this list must be cleared by additional ID checks such as drivers license or passport or birth certificate, and in some cases(I have been told) a phone call must be made before...

    "Dust Caps" and rinsing rant

I have seen many posts on this board advising divers, mostly newbies, to rinse their first stage by installing the dust cap and soaking it in fresh water. In most cases the mfg recommends rinsing while under pressure to avoid getting water or anything else into the first stage. The dust cap...

    To my friends on SB

Some time ago I posted something about Gilligan(who?) expressing my appreciation for his pics. I screwed up! Not about Jim, just about the rest on this board. Folks like Dee, Alcina, Justleeza, Cecil, Mandrake, gilligan, Lukerob, chippy, and all the others I can't name(wish I had a...

    Sony housing fracture

I noticed something odd while inspecting my Sony MPK-PHA housing during my last trip and found a small fracture near the lower hinge lug on the main body where the back cover attaches. It extends through the sealing surface where the o-ring seats and has progressed in size since I first...

    Back from Bonaire! WOW!

Just got back this afternoon from a 2 week stay on Bonaire and had photo fun! Nothing on the level of quality normally seen here, but I'll post some shots as soon as I can get them downloaded and resized. I'll post a trip report as soon as I can, but suffice it to say that my trip was a great...
