The Boynton Dive Chronicles (new and improved)

That folks is the way the pros respond to a gag pic... classic response! Kevin, if you can take excellent pictures such as yours with camera problems and deathly slow shutter lag, I'd be scared to see what you could do with a top notch camera. Man, those are great pictures! As for...

Man Dies After Dive on Spiegel Grove

Mike, for what it's worth, I don't know about the Grove, but the Duane had good to great conditions Saturday morning. Guessing maybe 2-4' waves, and fairly mild currents both on the surface and on the bottom. Vis there was 80'+, better than the picture shows. (my scanner is worthless so the...

    Still Hating Winter

Sorry to hear about the weather up there,... Not trying to rub it in, but Largo was great early yesterday morning. 1st dive was the Duane, rolled off the boat, looked down, and there she was, pretty as can be. Great vis, sunny for most of the dive, minimal current and 4 big bull sharks...

Does a new reg need servicing before use ?

My new MK25/S600 from Scubatoys wasn't tuned quite right out of the box, and had to send it back for a little tweaking. Was this a hassle? A little, but it only cost me $6 in shipping and they had it in & out the same day. My local scubapro dealer took almost 3 weeks to service another set...

    Your most dramatic dive moment.

Was lobstering last year in FL. One bug my buddy caught gauged too small. When he released it, the thing zoomed down toward the reef (and me), zipped around my side, and straight into my lobster locker! A self-imposed slam dunk through the one-way door. The hardest I've ever laughed...

    Horizons Unlimited OKC/Edmond Closed

Hey, anybody know what happened to Horizons Unlimited on Memorial in Oklahoma City/Edmond? Had tanks filled late last week, business as usual. Went back today to drop off for another fill, the shop was gutted, phone disconnected, and all signs but one gone. Glad I picked up my tanks when I...

    Problem flying w/ dive lights?

Michael, just unscrew the light or remove the seal so it can't seal up. Some lights/cameras will vent the higher ground air pressure past the o-ring as you climb, then seal up tight when you descend. What you could have is a vacuum in it after a flight, making some hard to open. An...

    Come Dive Alaska

Thanks, I'd love to! Great diving, nice people, beautiful area. Pretty good combination. Hey, by they way, I'm impressed with you cold water OW cert divers. Learning to dive in a dry suit sure would add to the challenge (and expense). Jeff

    Come Dive Alaska

Hey, score another fan of Alaska diving! Was in Sitka on a cruise for a few hours... just enough time to squeeze in one dive at Whale Park. Outstanding, ready for more dives up that way. (Grow, money tree, grow.) One of these days. Brian at Island Fever was great, enjoyed diving with him...
