For Sale Nauticam GX85 Full U/W System

For sale is a complete Micro Four-Thirds underwater camera system. I have made the switch to mirrorless full-frame (Panasonic S1H) so everything must go! I would rather sell everything at once, so before I split up and start entertaining offers on individual items, I am offering everything...

    Symbiosis SS-2

I'm afraid I still have the same answer I had over at wetpixel. Where will you be most of your diving? If in Hawaii with good viz and ambient light, I'm sure the MWB will do the trick.

    Symbiosis SS-2

More pics using the SS-2's in full manual mode, as well as a short video using the 2000 lumen heads. Note, conditions in SoCal have been pretty crappy lately, including limited viz and really surgy. Video:

    Neoprene sleeves for flex arms?

I've used flex arms for 15 years - they are much quicker to reposition and I have never felt any limitation to lighting angle using them. I also have ball arms and while I don't have nearly as much experience with them, I prefer the flex arms.

    Neoprene sleeves for flex arms?

Thanks all, I will look into these. I'm looking for some buoyancy as well as some added support (for heavier strobe/light combos) without sacrificing too much flexibility.

    Neoprene sleeves for flex arms?

Does anyone know of a place to buy neoprene sleeves designed to fit 3/4" flex (loc-line, turbo flex etc) arms?

    Symbiosis SS-2

Agreed that lighting positioning is definitely different between photo and video, as are the various techniques different people use. I'm usually repositioning my lights for each shot.

    Symbiosis SS-2

I did my first dives with the SS-2s/2000 lumen heads. The output from the video lights was great, easily on par with the Sola 2000's. As it was first time using strobes since the film days, I feel I have a little bit of learning to do. Some pics from the dive attached. Photos taken using a...

    Panasonic GH4 settings for underwater

Those lenses will cover you well (depending on what kind of shooting you like to do). I use those same lenses, as well as the Oly 12-50 in the Nauticam port with the macro mode. The 60mm macro is great for small subjects (when shooting in 4k, equivalent to 138mm on FF and 86mm on APS-C), but is...

Trip Video - 01/30/2015 Los Coronados Islands

The diver with the tank under his arm was using a re-breather - so the tank was a bail-out bottle - I'm not a CCR diver but that appears to be the usual way to sling those tanks (one thing that has deterred me from rebreathers). The other diver was on open circuit, and I agree, his tank mounted...

Trip Video - 01/30/2015 Los Coronados Islands

Video from 1/30/2015 trip to the Los Coronados Islands aboard Waterhorse Charters. We didn't have clear skies that day, but we did have great viz and fun times with friends! https://vimeo.com/119429211 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

YouTube now supports 1080p60 and 720p60!

It would depend on whether the content would benefit from smoother motion over increased resolution. A gamer is likely to take a (less noticeable) hit to resolution over a (much more noticeable) higher frame rate. Likewise, for UW video, if I'm posting a video of nudibranchs I may opt for...

    Panasonic GH4 - Cinema Quality at a Consumer-Friendly Price

I agree - the GH4 has produced the best HD video I've ever been able to produce (and of course I have 4k/UHD source footage and I'm able to create a 4k master for future use). Here's some of the footage I've shot over the past couple of months with this camera and the Nauticam housing...

Latest Video - Northern Channel Islands with BlueWater Photo

Last month I joined BlueWater Photo for a 2 day trip aboard the Peace Dive Boat. The three main goals of the trip were celebrating my 40th bday with my dive buddies, escaping the "rat race" for 48 hours, and shooting some video for the 2014 SoCal Shootout. All were a great success...

Video editing - android tablet or windows laptop

Yes, several, but most of the ones I've tried are lacking in one way or another. KineMix is a free app that allows you to splice together footage (you can set the the start and end points of each clip), with no re-encoding being done (I've even been able to do this on 4k footage from my GH4)...

    1" Loc-line question

I have never seen 1" loc-line. I use both 1/2" (for sola 2000s) and 3/4" loc-line (sola 4000s) tubes, and use the adapter to be able to mount the 1/2" tubes on the 3/4 tubes. According to the loc-line website this size does not exist..

Micro 4/3 based UW filming system, what to choose, housing, port lens combo ??

It would be so awesome if the panny 7-14mm (which I have) had OIS. I don't know if the f4 would have to sacrifice with that built into the lens? The announced Olympus 7-14mm f2.8 would be worth double $$ (IMO) if that lens included OIS. IBIS seems to be the route Olympus is going. I know it...

Super Bowl or Diving? (Catalina/Farnsworth Banks Video)

The boat I was on (Sundiver) has satellite tv, but we never flipped it on. The scenery out of the galley windows was much more entertaining. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Super Bowl or Diving? (Catalina/Farnsworth Banks Video)

I'm using the Panasonic GH-2 in a Nauticam housing, with the 12-50mm lens. Lights are 2 Sola 4000s. For software, I edit with Adobe Premiere CS6. ---------- Post added February 8th, 2014 at 05:05 PM ---------- I'll have to ask on the Poseidon model - the diver is Rick Romano. I believe his...
