    Nitrox in Subic

Another thumbs up for george at boardwalk. I am too lazy to drive the extra distance to the other places or sit on a boat for another 30 mins to get to the sites.

LLBC Philippines onboard the M/B Rags

That is old Rags that is now based in Leyte. Was used to dive the Cooper and has just been used (I believe) to dive the Yamasuro. LLBC has a new super (and I mean super) banka and it definately was not 350k to build. For those that have been on the Empress Rags II is bigger and more...

    2006 Typhoon

Sweating is a natural way to take a bath so save the water in Manila - it also cleans clothes from the inside out...pretty cool eh :D

    Family-type touristy resort in PG

Atlanitis has better rooms but is more expensive, LLBC has the best beach of PG, nice rooms and most importantly the managers have hair (eh matt :D :D )

    Surigao Straits & Japanese Wrecks

Bruce, Let me know when your in Manila - lets meet to discuss Caves :D If you need a place to stay we have space. The team I was talking about is the one you heard about. They were prepared for a 150m + dive but on previous soundings had seen something significantly shallower which they...

    viewpoints of Subic

Really? I have found the complete opposite. For me Subic is almost exploration due to the lack of support. There is no decent pumping station and the boats are not as comfortable or as well maintained as typical diving bankas. I would imagine you have to offer a clean well maintained dive...

    Rebreather info

As I told you RBs are a tool as a marine biologist I sometimes need to use them. As for BS and blinkers - no mate that is an opinion, informed by several hundred hours of RB use so no need to look sideways. You are welcome to yours as am I so wind in your neck eh! Graham

    Rebreather info

No plans to get more than 0 hours either :D I have looked at megalodon and I don't see it as an improvement over any other similarly designed unit (most CCR are essentially the same boring unit - OTS "clutterlungs" and tube at the back with the scrubber and PO2 monitoring). What I don't...

    Rebreather info

I have owned two MK15s (both modified to add off board gas - which is a simple and cheap mod), I am a normoxic trimix instructor on inspirations and have used the KISS. I consider rebreathers very dangerous tools (some more than others but all are very dangerous) and I don't consider them...

    Rebreather info

Jason - I thought I said all the others were toys :D Based on the three aside from Mk15 (which rocks) that I have used: KISS nice system but the PO2 monitoring is very fragile :( Inspiration way over priced with the strong pound - I have a friend in the navy who says that all the parts...

    Rebreather info

Stictly speaking yes but MK16s are still made for military use (very expensive and not available to the public) and you can buy are brand new (assembaled from unused parts) MK15.5 from a company in Australia (approx US12,000). There are a number of reconditioned Mk15 out there - even though many...

    Surigao Straits & Japanese Wrecks

I'll tell you all the details when its done but with regards to currents - plan on slack neaps. BTW its not me :D With regards to the chamber onboard - just do the deco properly :D afterall if somethings goes wrong it will be ascent from depth which will be very hard to treat regardless of...

    Rebreather info

If you want rebreathers its LLBC in PG. They have KISS, MK15, Drager, Inspiration and Evolution. PG is quicker and easier to get to than Aniloa (IMHO - the less driving the better in PI :D ) - it is more expensive though and the top three (Atlantis, Asia Divers and LLBC) are much bettter set...
