    Good to see folks again

Aloha It was time to stop working so hard on my career "real Job" Since I gave up teaching, and dive guiding, I have been spending way too much time on land. I got to go out with my old friends at Dive Oahu, Friday Morning. Did Sea Tiger and Kewalo Pipe. It was great to run into Marco, and Brian...

    Camera Walk

Aloha All I went out for a camera walk with Justleesa this morning. At least thats what I call a walk where you take pictures.. Lisa got some cool pictures of dragonflies. Shark Tag with a Strobe?

I was cutting the dive boat loose at the YO 257 this morning. It was raining hard at the surface, and very cloudy, and totally overcast. It was almost twilight feeling as I went back down to the ball. I saw a shark passing by the white tip we had spotted earlier on the bottom. Since the white...

    Underwater for the Earthquake

Aloha All A strange thing happened Thursday. I was leading a dive around 10 am, and on the dive I heard some strange noises like explosions, and vibrations. I looked all around, and saw no boats overhead or anything weird. When I got back on board the boat, I asked if the navy or Coast guard...

    Freed a Turtle Yesterday

Aloha All I don't know if you have noticed, but Turtles like to rub up against objects. They will rub against rocks, wrecks, underwater moorings, etc. At Turtle Canyon, off Waikiki, we have submerged moorings, with a mooring ball, and enough excess line to reach the surface, and tie off the...

    Vintage Scuba wedding

Aloha All Well, we finally did it. Justleesa and myself got married. We did it our way, underwater at our favorite reef, Turtle Canyon, right here off Waikiki. We had 18 of our friends on a nice shallow 40 foot, with all of our favorite Turtles in attendance. We had to do the dive shallow so...

    Vintage Vulcan Knives

I have purchased two US Divers Vulcan Knives, but I noticed some differences between the two. The Scabbards are Identical, but the blades are marked differently. One is marked US Divers "Vulcan", and has a sawblade on the top. The handguard is stamped Japan, and a Patent number. Second is...

    Latest Vintage Gear Dive

Aloha, my latest vintage dive was on June 24, at the Sea Tiger, here on Oahu. I dived my rebuilt Royal Aquamaster to 125 fsw, with a j valve tank 2250 psi. Don't you just love the freedom not having a BCD, to slow you down? I sure surprised the Eagle Rays cruising the wreck, as I was right in...
