    To Nerd (or not)

I'm happy with my Nerd2. Have it for 300+ hours (ocean, caves, dpv) and use it as a primary monitor during the dive. I look at the main controller only when I need to switch PO2. The compass screen is VERY useful on the shore dpv dives. My original unit had a mount which broke twice and every...

Traveling and TMx BO Gas when traveling

Cave County dive shop in Florida has a great TMx BO renting policy. You pay a regular price $10 per tank per day and only pay for the mix if you've used it up.

Is there cave diving on the West Coast?

Vancouver Island is actually closer for me than Florida. My CCR TEC60 training was in Nanaimo and I drove there from California. My instructor told me about underwater caves on the island but I'm not sure I want to dive in the caves there

    Cheap storage in cave country

Hello, I fly to Florida from California for cave diving 2-3 times a year. And traveling with my CCR and DPV is a nightmare. 2 50lbs checked bags and very heavy carry on and "computer" bags. It would be great if I could leave some of my stuff (dry suit, fins, reels, etc.) somewhere in cave...

    Drysuit crotch patch size

Hello, Can anyone tell me the crotch patch size for DUI or any other drysuit? When I bought my suit 3 years ago I had no plans to dive with DPV and refused a crotch patch option. Now most of my dives are DPV dives and the fabric in crotch area is badly worn. I have cordura fabric to make a...

Dil switch off helium during deco

Hello @Dr Simon Mitchell, Thank you for your reply. I do 200'-270' CCR dives a few times a month and dive below 300' occasionally. I use 50/70GF and never had DCS symptoms so far. Would you recommend to use O-Dive to control the decompression quality? Thank you, Vitaly

    Seam sealer

Hello, Does anyone know how DUI and other manufactures seal seams on trilaminate drysuits? Do they use aquaseal or other glue? How do they prepare the fabric? Sand, degrease, do something else? I am repairing my TLS350 and the bonding quality of my patches is not as good as the original seals.
