REBREATHER OXYGEN SENSOR AVAILABILITY & COVID

Due to coroniavirus, the oxygen sensor manufacturers are very busy making medical sensors for ventilators resulting in delayed production for sensors for rebreathers. OxyCheq has rebreather sensors in stock for almost every rebreather. If you are a rebreather manufacturer, a dive shop...

REPLACEMENT SENSORS FOR THE ANALOX O2EII

OxyCheq is now taking replacement oxygen sensor orders for the Analox O2EII oxygen analyzer. Our replacement sensor is called the AST-40D. They are $85 and shipping. You can contact us to place an order or place it online ... OxyCheq - AST-40D Oxygen Sensor We have also been shipping the...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

Hi Michael. You mentioned the testing certificate that is supplied by AI and when I saw they doing that (prior to you mentioning it) I kind of laughed. I have been distributing Teledyne oxygen sensors since 1999. I think in around 2000 we started selling rebreather sensors and ended when...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

I understand your concerns and I have been unsuccessful in easing them. I think that is largely due to your lack of knowledge in the design and manufacture of oxygen sensors. Either that, or you just enjoy arguing. I could pick apart the information in your replies, continue to ask you...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

I don’t expect you to be betting your life because I don’t plan on you using the AST sensors. Those diving them will be evidence of them working. I say they work and you believe they don’t. How about $2000 USD as a wager? NEDU tests a number of sensors out of a batch in a lab environment and...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

The main cost of making a sensor is labor. Additional costs would be the connector used. As an example, Molex connectors are cheap in comparison to the variety of coax connectors. Often, a manufacturer of analyzers or rebreathers wants a sensor like nothing else on the market so they can supply...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

We have not put them in an actual unit. However, we did test a JJ sensor against an AST in the lab and if it works in a lab environment it will work in the rebreather. As I said before, the same sensor with a different connector has been tested almost daily on long cave dives. And, we continue...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

We have been testing the AST-22D sensors for the last several months in the Florida caves. They are the same output as the JJ version. The only difference between them is the connector that is used. In the past we distributed Teledyne sensor for rebreathers and they left a huge void once they...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

I am sure they tested them. The main reason is $$$. I am not twisting your arm, use what you want to use. In the end, the market not one individual will determine what they prefer to use.

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

Why do you think the manual says that?

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

Don't understand the reason for not having a hydrophobic membrane on an O2 analyzer since it will work. But the Teledyne R22S is a 3 pin Molex for analyzers and the AST-22D is the RB version of it.

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

Yes, now there are three options. I agree with Vandergraph supplying the JJ sensors and AI is making them for DGX. Don't think Vandergraph is the actual manufacturer. I say that because they were my Teledyne counterpart in the UK. And, knowing that Vandergraph provides some different sensors to...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

We expect to have sensors for the SF2 by the middle of January (maybe a little earlier). Should have already been shipping them, but DHL lost boards and we had to have them manufactured again. Already have orders for them. I have never seen an issue with hydrphobic membranes causing a problem...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

Yes, having difficulty getting photos loaded up on the site. Hope the info below helps. AST-14D Replacement sensor for Inspiration, Evolution, XCCR and Flex rebreathers AST-14D1 Replacement oxygen sensor for SF2 and Titan rebreathers. AST-22D Works in the Dive Rite Optina, KISS...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

Our sensors are made by Applied Sensing Technology (AST). AST was started over two years ago by two executives that have 60 years of combined experience in sensor design/manufacturing while working at both Teledyne and AI. JJ does not make their own sensors, I believe they are supplied to them...

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

By mid January we should have the AST-14D in stock for the Inspiration Vision electronics, XCCR and Flex rebreathers.

    ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR REBREATHER SENSORS

We will have replacements for the JJ. See attached photo. Should have had them now, but DHL lost a shipment of boards. So, now early January they will be available.
