    I need an expert ...

Wanted to update on this very old post. Wet part 1 is now live on Amazon. I so appreciate everyone for your help. I did shy away from the scene from Abyss--so overdone nowadays--ya know. Most of the people--ahem--women who read this will know nothing about diving, but I did have a couple of...

What is the best scuba diving novel you've ever read?

Inca Gold -- by Clive Cussler. The cenote dive was cool. Loved all his original works but like others have said, I lost interest when the ghost writer took over The Deep -- it was cool to dive the Rhone right after watching the movie too. Wet part 1 -- Of course I'd love this one.

    Wet

I posed a question on Scubaboard a while back, I was writing a novel centered around the diving world and I needed some technical advice. It was fun to see what people said, and I got some great ideas. I wanted to announce that the book is now available on Amazon and is only 99 cents until April...

    I need an expert ...

FYI: Another novel just hit Amazon. Still working on the diving story, getting there, but if you are in to Young Adult Fiction, my most recently published book was in the top 100 top selling for about a week. That is always exciting!!! Woo Hoo!!!

    I need an expert ...

So I was at the theatre last night watching a live play. It wasn't keeping my attention very well so I pulled out my phone and started reading through responses. I got to this one and I laughed out loud ... during a serious scene in the play. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! ---------- Post added...

    I need an expert ...

Sorry, no Warhammer Maneuver in this scene ... but maybe the reason for it later??? :blinking: You apparently are not familiar with the romance novel hero qualities. Nothing, even having curry the night before could diminish his glorious desirability and ability to pull off the Warhammer...

    I need an expert ...

I find this a great help and would like to play with some options, if you don't mind. Storytelling/fiction gives room for creative license but I don't want to disgrace myself or the sport and the skill and experience of those of you who know better than I. However, I can take comfort knowing...

    I need an expert ...

That would be my choice, but I don't think Clive would appreciate it.

    I need an expert ...

I am a writer, (some critics may disagree--ha ha ). My latest romantic story involves diving. I have a little over 200 dives so have hopefully not disgraced myself so far, but there is a critical scene where I need an accident. However, my experience is purely recreational so I don't have...

    Sand Flies in Roatan...

On Utila and Belize, we haven't been to Roatan yet but are going in June, no one in my family of 7complained more than occasionally about the sand fly bites. I however, have a terrible reaction to them. I have decided I must be allergic to the bites. Deet helps but only minimally, not worth it...

    T-one month and counting...

I've heard of divers that take everything including the kitchen sink. I've never seen one of those though.

Roatan - Bay Island Beach Resort - Early May - Sugestions?

I will be at BIBR June 13-20. I can't wait. I absolutely loved Utila. I am so anxious, don't know if I can stand to wait.

    Cutter's Advanced/DEET/Cactus Juice

By handling, I just mean they don't make me miserable the way the sand flies do. The same methods I use to ward off sand flies usually work even better at keeping the mosquitoes off. I will try to find cactus juice. I am looking for the perfect solution. Thanks

    Cutter's Advanced/DEET/Cactus Juice

I can handle mosquito bites but seem to have an extra bad reaction to the sand flies--"no see'ums". I have been to Utila three times and Tobacco Caye, Belize once and have suffered tremendously while there and I get home looking like I have a severe case of chicken pox for about 6 weeks. It...

    Diving in US Virgin Islands

I've wondered about diving around St Thomas/St John area. Are there any all-inclusives that are worth it? How is the diving?

    Aqua Action - St. Thomas

Good to hear. I went to St Thomas during my pre-diving life. Since getting certified, I've wanted to go back but I never really hear anyone recommend it.

    Things you've found under water

Utila, my daughter was there getting her DM cert. Another student lost her engagement ring while diving. A few days later, she saw it on the finger of another student diver from another shop. I still can't get over how lucky she was to get it back.

Any good Carribean all inclusives with on-site snorkeling & a nice beach?

Tabacco Caye in Belize had good snorkeling right in front of our room. Try snorkeling at night. We saw almost as many cool things in the lagoon as we did on our dive as we were coming back in from our night-shore dive.

Please help with vacation destination.. would love to try out some new equipment.

We did Cozumel when our youngest still needed a kid's club while the rest of us dived. We would go to pick her up after our dives and she didn't want to leave the kids club. That was Fiesta Allegro which is now closed. Our family loved that place and are sad to see it change. Hoping that it...

    Life jacket?

At least in the ocean, I have no need for a snorkel vest. The salt keeps you pretty bouyant.
