Oceanic is no longer repairing the Data Mask! I have had mine for over 11 years and it just acted like it flooded through the top button. The battery compartment seemed fine. Any idea to repair or is it shot? I love tis mask.

Headed to Placencia in July, It appears that there is no shore diving and you must do a longer boat trip to reef areas. Any recommendations? We are only able to dive a few days as most of our trip will be business. We are both DM's on Maui but my wife doesn't care for rough water boat rides.

Awesome report Jay, We are headed to Placencia in July mainly for condo hunting trip but we are coming all the way from Maui so we have to get in a few dives. Any info on that area would be greatly appreciated. It appears we have to head up north a bit for diving. ????

Aloha, yes we stayed in Rangiroa at the Kia Ora resort in January. It was amazing and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The dives in the channel are what I would consider advanced dives as the currents were swift during most of our dives

Headed to Rangiroa in January 2018. Going to stay at Hotel Kia Ora for a week. Does anyone know if Top Dive boat dives are a two tank boat dives. They offer a 10 tank pass but wasn't sure if we should could split it between the two of us. Any info would be appreciated.

While we have had some really bad viz days lately, we often are able to get out away from shore with our dive scooters. Yesterday the viz at Makena Landing was about 10' but once we got out to 50 fsw it opened up really nicely. There are isolated reefs out away form the crowds which are packed...

Thanks for the awesome recommendation! We always try to have a fun time. If the shore line is a bit murky, it also helps to get 1/2 mile off shore to some isolated satellite reefs with the scooters.

That's what I love about scooter diving. We can get off shore enough for it to clear up when shore divers are fighting the surge.
