Review Trip Review for Nautilus Undersea Hunter

In their covid guide, they state that everyone is supposed to wear a mask in common areas. Is this enforced still? It seems like a hard rule to follow with the sport of diving.

Covid-19 (coronavirus) Updates - Liveaboard Cancellation Policy

The sad part about this is that I don't think ANYONE wants their money back. All anyone wants is their trip to be rescheduled and they won't accommodate that. I appreciate that Mike is trying to be creative but, for the love of all that is holy, just reschedule the people's trips so you aren't...

Covid-19 (coronavirus) Updates - Liveaboard Cancellation Policy

Also, I don't know why you are saying "recoup most of your money?" We are recouping 40% of our money which is less than half.

Covid-19 (coronavirus) Updates - Liveaboard Cancellation Policy

Nobody is questioning the quality of the boats. This would have been my second time around with them and I can state it was the best liveaboard I've ever taken. I'm not even asking for my money back. I WANT to go on this boat. What I can't understand is why he is claiming he will be out of...

Were you on the trip going out on the 21st?

Covid-19 (coronavirus) Updates - Liveaboard Cancellation Policy

The poster was from Nautilus, but my assumption is it was Mike the owner since he had been posting about flying people home in his private jet in a prior post on the thread.

Covid-19 (coronavirus) Updates - Liveaboard Cancellation Policy

Yesterday they posted, and I am paraphrasing, that they couldn't refund everyone's money because they were a small operation and would go bankrupt. Obviously, this went over as well as you would expect... They have since deactivated the company facebook page. What a horrible way to handle...

    Left handed?

As a fellow lefty, I think it comes down to what works for you. You're the one diving your equipment if you are fumbling around trying to operate stuff it is you that pays the price. For the most part, I've had no problem adjusting to the right-handed divers world.. The only issue I've ever...

    Gamma o-ring source?

I have a couple of gamma torches that I'd like to replace the o-rings on. (they have seen better days) Anyone know what size these are or the best place to get them?

Which agency should I join if I wish to become an Elite Diver?

Anyone who would call themselves an "elite diver" most likely isn't one. You learn something new every single dive.

Keys Dive Operations Post-Irma: Who will be opening, and when?

What do you think that chances are that the Vandenberg or the Spiegal Grove have been moved. It would be devastating if either one of those wrecks have tipped over.

Cell Phone Coverage On Cayman Aggressor?

I'll be on the Cayman Aggressor in a couple of weeks. I ended up renting one of these: Rent Cayman Islands MIFI – Cayman Islands WIFI Rental Unlimited data for $129 seemed like a pretty good deal. I'll let you know how it works out.

As a New Diver, Where to Invest Money First

Most people go through several sets of gear until they find what is perfect for them. It took me a bit, but I've finally got to the point where I really don't feel like I need anything else. As others have said, dive a bunch and use different rental equipment until you find stuff you like.

BCD vs Wing in adrift situation.

I noticed the same thing in the video. However, he might have just had it off and fully inflated for comfort. The seas were pretty calm, there really wasn't a whole lot of reason to leave it on.

Proper Etiquette for a New Diver Concerning Buddies on a Dive Charter

Haven't read through all the responses, but you can modify your dive profile so you are vertically higher than your buddies. 10-15 feet vertically can at least give you a few more minutes of diving. Pretty much everyone here has dove with an Insta-buddy on a boat. Sometimes they have more...

    Water Temps in Nassau?

Just got back from the tip. Water temps were 82-84 degrees. ;)

    Water Temps in Nassau?

Has anyone been diving in Nassau in the last week or so? My girlfriend and I are headed there late next week and she is trying to determine if she should bring her 3mm or 5mm wetsuit. She gets cold fast.

    Pony Bottles & Regulators

I'm relatively new to pony bottles. I have a question regarding storage. Currently, I have been leaving the regulator on the pony and the 2nd stage attached as it would be if I was using it. Are there any issues doing it this way? Should I remove the regulator until I'm actually using it?

    AOW? Joke? Meaningless?

I had a similar experience. I don't so much fault the instructors as I do myself for waiting so long to take it. If I had completed AOW at 25 dives, I likely would have felt differently than I did at 100 dives. I think that is where people go wrong with it.
