    PG Dive Closing

Yes, very sad. Although I haven't been diving much this year I have shopped at PG Dive quite a few times over the past few years. Those folks were so helpful and it was such a good shop to go to. I think it must be really hard to have a decent shop in the northeast with such a short season...

My experience with North Atlantic Scuba in Marshfield

Lets hope enough people avoid NAS and give business to good folks instead like PG Dive. Having more shops is good, but having bad shops like NAS giving divers a hard time is not needed. Do we hear any responses from NAS here? No, because they probably don't even care to check the areas most...

    I finally dived Monastery!

Yeh, last I talked to Mark he was doing abalone diving. Now that IS a nice guy, to bring not one ( rather expensive) table for himself, but one for his buddy too! When I dove with him a few times he brought along an extra steel 120 for me to use. Super guy for sure. John C.

The nice guy? Is that Mark Weitz in the picture with you? I haven't heard from him in quite a while. Has anyone heard from him? John C.

    Bonaire Truck Rental & Insurance

Whatever you do, avoid renting a truck with Budget. We stayed a Golden Reef Inn last week and the package came with a Budget rental truck. Budget gave us a truck with old, rotten, bald tires. Of course one of the tires had a flat ( which I had to change,) and then Budget even made us pay...

    BHDC Dive Report 4/06

Youze guys are animals...animals I tell ya! lol.... 40 degrees? with air temps around the same? I guess the bold and the brave get to eat scallops. Me, I just might take the cover off my boat this week, but it will probably be several weeks before I consider venturing out into the cold...

Bonaire Wannadive- is it just me?

I see! Thank You Liz! I'm glad to hear it was just a matter of language barrier. I thought it was very strange to be told that pony tanks were not allowed ( can't use it as I was told.) I have also heard that Wannadive is a great dive shop, so this had me more confused. I'll be...

Bonaire Wannadive- is it just me?

I know, I've been to Bonaire a few years ago for a week of diving, and I do understand that a pony is for the most part not needed, but at some sites like the Hilma Hooker at depths like 95 feet deep and at night I think a pony is a good idea. My surprise and the real point of this post is...

Bonaire Wannadive- is it just me?

Many people prefer to dive with a pony tank as an emergency backup. I don't think it is so hard to imagine when a pony tank could be useful to have... do you really?

Bonaire Wannadive- is it just me?

No boat involved. This is for shore diving....not boat diving.

Bonaire Wannadive- is it just me?

Here is a conversation I have been having with Wannadive company in Bonnaire. Is it just me? This is coming from a supposedly professional dive shop! They are telling me they have a RULE that says I can't use a pony tank!!!!! I hate to get upset with people on my trip before I even go...

    Blue water....

In my opinion, you didn't miss too much by not diving in Bermuda. I've been there a bunch of times and dove there a few times, and it's not a great dive destination. The coral is bleached out and while there are a lot of fish you can see just as many snorkling. That said, I do like Bermuda a...

Looking for an experienced dive buddy for Cape Cod

Do you dive the Vineyard sound area in the summertime? I know the currents there are rip and have to be done at slack tide, and areas like garbage beach get awful busy with boats in the summer. Where do you usually dive?

Looking for an experienced dive buddy for Cape Cod

For shore diving, you may want to consider diving on the north side of the cape first. Nantucket sound and Vineyard sound have some serious currents as well as most diving on the south side of the cape is just sand bottom with little to see unless you get out around the Elizabeth Islands or...
