    Nanaimo Snake Island fatality

Story I heard from people down there was it was a planned deco dive to 130 feet(had proper gear and training), diver got narced headed deeper and his buddy went after him getting narced himself. They just had the wrong back gas to go deeper then 130. No clue where the 250 feet came into play...

    How dangerous is diving?

When people ask me I say diving is a dangerous sportconducted in a safe, controlled manner. So when you lose the safety and control (Ie. Proper training, divingwithin your limits, Safe functioning gear, Good dive buddy reparable shop/boatit becomes dangerous) the same can be said for any sport...

    Is dive master worth it?

I'm speakingfrom the experience people get from our store but IMO you get as much out ofthe divermaster course as you put in. The benefit asfar as skills go is that it increases your experience level and prefects them. As a dm you help teach classes and demonstrateskills so you must increase...

    Gloves in cold water

I base glove wearing on how long the dive is. If its quick little 20-30 minute dive i usually forgo, where it its a longer dive ill wear them. My only comment is as long as the cold water doesnt render your fingers numb and use less( Ie. bad arthritis or frostbite) i don't see why you'd have too?

    Bit of advice please....

Ok so where did I say it was inherently unsafe? I'm pretty sure i just started whats safer? A new reg will always be safer then a 25 yr old reg. **** i've seen people pay upwards of 300 bucks for the reg this guy wants to buy just to part it out lol what ever! I guess when you bring a reg over...

    Teaching my daughter scuba diving?

IMO There is no problem taking your daughter in the pool unless she gets hurt or injured. I mean 50-99 dives doesn't make you an expert by any means but it doesnt make you a fool either. I guess if your willing to deal with injury or even death as much as your willing to deal with success...

    Bit of advice please....

Im pretty sure I said I don't know what age your regs are and have never used them, but my understanding is. They use to be 3/8 and at some point in the early 90's switched to the standard 7/16. There where also adapted kits made so if you picked yours up used someone might have converted it...

    Bit of advice please....

Since I started diving i've owned several sets of regs. The main reason I switch up is because I don't feel comfortable selling a product till I've dove it and am able to give experienced based opinions on it. Also because I put any where from 150-250 dives in a year (Which is a lot considering...

Does your first stage and second stage have to match or be the same brand?

Most second stages will work on any first stage, you just might not be getting the full performance out of either if the specs dont match up. Id recomond the din conversion kit personally if you like your current set up

    Bit of advice please....

I don't care if people want to buy used gear. All i know is i see people getting burned by it all the time and when people come in paying 200+$ for relics we have hanging off our wall I wonder what their thinking. Would you buy a used airbag for your car? a 20yr old parachute? If you answer...
