    EAN/NITROX Dive and Macular Edema

I don't know of any published documents pertaining to diving and Irvine-Gass syndrome. Same for EAN use. As always, check the safety boxes by contacting your treating ophthalmologist and DAN, but I would expect somewhat vague answers going along the lines of 'remember to equalize pressure in...

    Lightning strikes and diving

Saltwater acts like a Farraday cage. Electricity generally spreads along the surface as the path of least resistance

"5mil but feels like a 7mil" - Bare Reactive, Henderson Aqualock

Thank you, everyone! Ended up going with the Aqualock because of reviews and that I found it in-stock for quite a bit cheaper than I could find an in-stock reactive. Used the extra bit I saved to get some aqua lock boots. Suit fits great and I can't believe how quickly it dries. Gotta figure out...

"5mil but feels like a 7mil" - Bare Reactive, Henderson Aqualock

Looking to get a nice 5mm suit. I have asked many people and the same 2 suits keep coming up; the Bare Reactive (2021ver. has recently been mentioned to me), as well as the Henderson Aqualock. Both have been mentioned as being a "5mm but feels like 7mm" kinda wetsuit. Any preference for, or...

    So much for streamlined

Had my custom Zen setup ordered a couple weeks back with Ryan (my first BP/W). Ryan spent a few hours on a Thursday morning, schooling me on all sorts of topics, for at least 2 hour... has an incredible amount of knowledge on diving. Reading this has me even more anxious to try out the setup. I...

    Jupiter Vs. West Palm

I do pretty much all of my diving with my father out of Palm Beach or Jupiter. Both have some very good spots. Breakers being one of the more popular spots. However, I have come to love Jupiter's diving because of the deep ledges (up to 145 ft.) in an area that has been referred to as "Upside...

Diving off Stuart for Spearfishing and Lobster

Hearing some stories of these sharks is the reason why I don't put the Sandpile on the list as well.

Diving off Stuart for Spearfishing and Lobster

I have a very good buddy that owns a boat and w're going to check out some spots for spearfishing and lobstering before season ends, in the next couple days. What can you tell me about these places, and any others I should consider • Loran Tower Ledges (mod 80'?) • Peck's Lake for lobsters...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

The guys that were diving in boat channel were. (I was underwater watching them and the hull pass over.)

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

That ones not that bad. On Saturday I was diving with a new buddy and witnessed 3 individuals swim under the pylons and into the boat channel. I proceeded to look at the guy in their group who held the flag, shake my head, and look back just in time to see a boat passing within 10 feet of these...

New Mac OS X Dive App

I've been running a MBP and Mac Dive for nearly a year. Love it! Driver installation was easy, heres a link. MacDive The biggest pain in the entire process was shelling out the money for the cable. Once you have the driver installed and right after you plug your Pro Plus in, go to Mac Dive >...

    Two firsts

There's much worse things to do while diving than touch a shark. If ya get bit, you'll learn your lesson.

'Grommeting' holes into BCD Pocket for more support

So puncture the pocket with a sharp object like an ice pick, to about the side of the ID of the grommet. Then melt the edges of the hole. Then grommet and repeat? EDIT: May be a better idea to get a small rod the ID of the grommet and heat it so it melts through the BCD pocket.

'Grommeting' holes into BCD Pocket for more support

How should I go about doing this that doesn't cause tearing or unraveling of the pocket? I have a Pro QD w/ I3 and attached a pretty nice little SOG knife to the two existing grommet holes, but would like to wrap some more zip ties around the other side to add more support; I simply lack the...

Shark Canyon & other popular shark spots

Where is Shark Canyon located (GPS preferable), and other popular places to see sharks in southeast florida? I hear Juno Ledge is quite popular. I'm a biology student at FAU and needless to say, I get excited whenever I see a shark while diving. Looking to get my 'fix'

New Mac OS X Dive App

Just got my PDC cable and redownloaded the whole slew of USB drivers to ensure it turned out right and I was uploading dives in no time. :D EDIT: Also got the DiveLog for iPhone and the compatibility is amazing. This program (MacDive) seems nearly perfect in almost every way
