    Iberostar & Dressel Divers

Not a ‘seasoned diver’ only about 300 or so dives. I dove with Dressel in Bayahibe in Dec. It was convenient to dive with the on-site shop. They were professional and true to the information provided. They are, however, on a schedule. It is true that once they have evaluated you, they will group...

Question for fellow Canadians flying Air Canada to Caribbean

We fly Air Canada because hubby gets 3 72lb bags free (retired military) more than enough for all our gear. :-)

Bring inhaler while diving not using underwater

I have an inhaler. It is commonly referred to as an asthma inhaler. I do not have asthma. You are absolutely correct in that it is not our business whether or not they have asthma nor whether or not they checked with medical professionals.

Bring inhaler while diving not using underwater

Not every inhaler is for asthma.

I accidentally put my dive computer in the washing machine

We did a dive in Samana that they called the ’Washing machine’. They were not exaggerating. Computer survived. :-)

    Daydreaming of Curacao

We were there for a week in June, it was never ‘bumpy’.

Is Scuba just not meant for me?

In my opinion people are here to waste time, I personally do not have a problem with old threads. :)

Trip Report Sunscape Curacao & Goby Divers.

Yes, I would stay at lions dive if I did not intend to use the AI features of Sunscape. The Covid form we signed in June was basic, if we had symptoms we acknowledged a requirement to go to a facility at our expense. We were also not Sun club, our room was basic and we had no issue other than...

Touching Female Cave Students By Consent: An Instructor's Perspective

The original post was in regards to cave diving training. I have no achievements in fist fighting. I have had my space and body violated and reacted perhaps too aggressively. No bragging, no ableism. If by chance we end up on a boat together let this old person fall, as I’d rather hit the deck...

Touching Female Cave Students By Consent: An Instructor's Perspective

Wow, ageist, ableist, and sexist in one! First, cave divers are rarely falling on deck. Second, no one said don’t help falling people, wether your dive is affected or not. What they ( and I) have said is don’t come at us without a heads up on what to expect during TRAINING! Outside of TRAINING I...

    So, where have I been?

This is similar to what my dad used to get, here it was a free service (you bought all the OTC items from the pharmacy). 28 days, all partitioned out, 4 daily spots, scripts and OTC meds. I am not yet willing to relinquish that much control. :)

    So, where have I been?

Absolutely! I am in Canada with two good drug plans, I have a local pharmacist who is very good. It is important to know what you take and why. I try to explain to my husband the OTC pills I put out for him and why, but he just takes them. It is fortunate that he is still working and financing...

    So, where have I been?

I resisted weekly pill trays for a long time, I was not an old person! I finally accepted that filling one up for a week vacation instead of dragging all the bottles (no narcotics) made sense. I now accept that there is no other way to keep track of my weeks meds, but I fill them myself, old...

    So, where have I been?

Sounds like you have had a tough time. :-( Glad you are on the mend and back here. Your efforts to find and share information that is often not widely published are greatly appreciated.

    Question Glowstick?

I have a few small ones, if my dive buddy and I are doing a dive that may run into dusk/darkness we will snap them to make it easier to see each other. We do not expect that they will illuminate any thing other than maybe each other, we have flashlights (torches) for seeing stuff. :-)

Touching Female Cave Students By Consent: An Instructor's Perspective

Caveat: I will never be a cave student. As to touching in general, if I am paying an instructor and as part of that training they feel things need to be adjusted, I am fine with a verbal heads up and a touch. In a class, with an Instructor I have chosen, where I am looking to learn things. What...
