Man this sucks completely.
Great catch, and it means I am not much interested in these, unless the dry connectors are possible.
Have you seen such dry connectors before?
It always strikes me that most tech divers could learn something from what the sidemount community has learned about how to get the tanks to ride both level, and out of the way.
It sound like the rebreather community could learn something here too, especially with the snap in nature of the...
When did you buy the OMS bladder? Is the bladder connection point glued to the bladder or pinched on? The newer ones are glued to the bladder, while the old style were pinched by a two piece connection point.
Generally speaking, that's exactly the dividing point. Think about balanced and unbalanced piston first stages, or balanced and unbalanced second stages.
Schrader valves fail when the spring fails, the bin bends, or the seating surface gets dislodged. But most importantly all the flow goes...
The K inflators are balanced inflators and they fail pretty regularly. The issue is one of design.
"They" tried to build an inflator that could be quickly re-cored as needed, but it's that very core based design that traps the salt water in the body and causes it to fail. The metal corrodes...
This is really the best, and Zeagle when they first came out with the screw-on version was going to have a higher flow version. But they were just about to get bought out by Huish, and the never came out with theirs.
Atomic DID come out with their screw on high flow inflator , and it makes for...
The nice thing about the Schraders is depending on the inflator, it's ten seconds to fix the inflator, and you do not need to break the seal on the corrugated hose, and it's easier to carry Schraders and the tool in even a basic save a dive kit.
You can do the same on the K-Valve, kinda, but if...
The older OMS's used Zeagle threading on their BCD bladders, but the new ones use a coarse thread (like Mares and Aqualung, but not matching.)
Whose threading do these bladders use?
(cross-posted the BCD discussions, but maybe more a DIY question, so)

That Air2 is actually better than the later generations for easy overhaul. Once they switched to the flexible purge button cover, things have gotten less straightforward since the rubber get old and cracked.
The replacement part is as expensive as an off-brand Air2 knockoff.
Plastic body US Divers Octopus cracked
I have a couple of cracked US diver Yellow Octopus, (and a Calypso missing its exhaust cover).
Are these worth anything to anyone? I want to put them up on eBay, but I do not want someone who does not know about the cracks to buy them.
What would you do...
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
I am stunned. The world is a darker place, with one less sun to shine the way. No way we would ever meet, but always...
Just the one gauge? not the compass and other things in the picture?
(I have some lights; a weird mix of a UK HID missing the bottom plate, an old D8 Xenon missing the top plate, an IkeLite pro V8 LED video light that lost the bottom plate. All the light heads work, but I don't use big lights...
Hey you have that pony bracket as well somewhere right? If you are still selling that by the time I can re-attach my paypal to funding can you stuff both into a flat rate USPS box of some kind?
Don't keep either on my account. If I sell some stuff, the account will get funded, but I had to get...
The factory chipped keys all have air voids in them, (experience showed me this) but after market chipped keys I find locally are molded without an air void, so they go in with me zipped into a pocket. Obviously the chirpers are not going to handle this.
If you get a UK light and take out the...
