Been holding off on getting a new dive computer for a while as I plan to pass my current Oceanic down to my son. No AI is definitely a no go for me. I got used to it and really like it.
I havent found anything down here with a shop that is worth the money. Always wanted to go to the Flower Gardens but for $600 its not worth it. Could do a week in Bonaire for not much more. Speaking of Copelands, I have never seen anything quite like it. Very little dive equipment and a lot...
If you have no equipment handy do bodyweight squats for the best use of your time with wall squats previously described to then target your quads. Lunges are great too but my knees are shot from lifting heavy weights and sports so I cant do them.
I have both an Atomic Arc and an Atomic Venom and they both have leaking issues. Another thing is I seem to have a weird face and after diving a while with both of these masks I get a nice red spot between my eyes on my forehead that gets tender. Going back to the drawing board to keep trying...
I havent gone diving in Cancun yet. What is it like diving there? Where do you stay? I really never even associated Cancun with diving except Cenotes and such. All of my trip to Mexico have been to Coz.
Before I started doing research and booked my trip to PG I had always thought that Coz was the cheapest destination for us to go to from South Texas. Airfare there is relatively inexpensive, and if I stayed somewhere like Blue Angel I could do shore dives there next to the stingray pen whenever...
I spoke to the instructor in the Dallas area yesterday and had a great conversation regarding Fundies. His recommendation was to take the class in the PArt 1 and part 2 approach. This seems to be a good approach as it will give us a bit more time to digest the material between classes.
If you look at that system it only offers the AL plate in a small I think. I was told this is because they are shedding inventory and will no longer be a Halcyon Dealer.
I am really interested in taking the GUE Fundies class in the near future. After reading the posts about peoples experiences with the class it has me a bit nervous. It seems like it is somewhat difficult to pass with a rec pass rating the first time. With course costs, travel to Dallas...
I contacted GUE and that's the name they provided. I know Sam Meacham used to teach in the San Marcos/Austin area but I sent him a message and he is located in Mexico now.
What SMB spool to all of you use? I do not plan to get into cave diving but really enjoy wreck diving at recreational depths. Not sure if that makes a difference. What spool would you all recommend to use and for class?
