Hoping to get a dive in at 3 room cave. I’m full cave and have all my own gear, just need cylinders. Any commercial ops going to three room cave? Or actually preferably anyone on here local with a boat want to go diving? Hoping to go Friday afternoon or Saturday morning if possible.
Again this has just been my expierence, and a liveaboard is an awesome way to see Galapagos, however, if it's out of your price range you shouldn't count out going anyways and staying in hostel/guest house type accommodations, hopping around between islands, connecting with locals and other...
I really don't have any vested interest to sell anyone on not doing a liveaboard, however, in my expierence the central islands provided an expierence that, at a minimum, equaled my liveaboard expierence to Darwin and Wolf. Conditions can always change and there are no guartentees, but my...
I need to be in Deer Lake on July 1 for work, hoping to get a dive or two in on the 29-30th of June. Any good diving or charters on the west side of the island? Also considering going to St. John's then renting a car to drive to Deer Lake. Local tips appreciated.
Thanks!
I've got a last minute spot open with a group I'm taking to Saba May 13-20th. $1095 includes 7 nights lodging (double occupancy) at Scout's Place and 5 days of two tank boat dives with Sea Saba Dive Center. Continental breakfasts included with lodging but other meals are not included. Airfare...
Looking at a possible relocation to Lawerence, KS. Need to know how much I'll be able to dive if I go through with this...any local diving? How about within 2-4 hours drive? Lakes, quarrys, caves, rivers all potentials.
Thanks!
Are there any DOT approved carbon fiber cylinders on the market for scuba (I know plenty for SCBA)? While maybe not so prudent to sell online to whoever, did anyone actually buy these unsuspecting and suffer an accident in result? DOT has no say over what is sold, only want can be filled and...
Depends what time of year. Most outfits will recommend a 5-7mm with hood and gloves as necessary. I was there last in March diving and I was comfortable in a 3mm (6mm on core) open-cell freediving suit with integrated hood. I was only doing 1-2 dives per day, however, I'm planning on returning...
Sorry for the delay. Natural Selection Tours (natselectsa@gmail.com) can get you set up diving in Isabela. I had a fantastic day with a trip they put together for me to Tortuga.
Santa Cruz, San Cristobal, and Isabela all have dive operations and you can do some fantastic diving. Biggest problem is site access is very restricted and only certain operators can go to certain places on specific days and its all at the whim of the park. Basically if you do a land based trip...
Ratios are consistent with PADI standards....so like 6 students per instructor. My expierence was that none of them were negligent, however, most are very inexperienced, often only regularly diving during the summer with Broadreach. For example, the instructor leading my trip only had around 100...
I've got a 5ft hose on my left bailout bottle that goes to a necklace (with excess hose stowed against cylinder). This bottle stays on for the duration of dive. I don't have the necklace ziptied under the mouth piece or anything so I can donate just as quickly as I can on OC with a longhose...
Oh boy...what really bad is it's over a year later, and I know exactly what shop this thread is about....and they are still giving people a hard time about this lol.
They don't give me problems for myself (ANDP), but sometimes I'm picking up cylinders for other people and they ask why I'm...
I think Broadreach and Actionquest are bigger than the other two and much better organized. It was my expierence with Broadreach that none of the instructors were really professional instructors, but mainly college students who don't teach or dive much outside of Broadreach during the summer...
I can recommend Divers Paradise they are great and run an awesome boat that is rarely full in the winter giving you lots of space to spread out. They've also got a full service shop!
Biggest problem with Miami diving is weather. Divers Paradise usually cancels for anything over 4-6ft which can...
Thank you all for your feedback. To clarify, the aspect I was concerned about was the potential large class size at a ridiculous cost (for a class of that size). Now I'm not an instructor, but I've taken my fair share of diving courses ranging from recreational to technical, as well as various...
