    Blackbeard - Liveaboard - Questions

Good list Really no need for a flashlight on board; and if you have a small backup dive light....... The multi tool really not necessary and in March a toboggan shouldn't be needed. Bring clips, they really come in handy and get a couple of good strong ones for your wetsuit. I sleep in board...

    Blackbeard - Liveaboard - Questions

In the trips have done with them they do give you some beach time on a remote island. Not very long but it is a nice break.

    Blackbeard - Liveaboard - Questions

I I went on Blackbeard"s last March. Temps were 75-78 and I was ok with a 3 ml and long sleeve Lavacore shirt but that's me. As others have said the glow sticks attach to the back of your tank, you can bring a plastic bag and store it in the on-deck freezer between uses so one will last the...

    Blackbeards packout list - suggestions?

Good list jlcnuke. Maybe a small dry bag for storage in the in deck bin. In December it may get pretty cool especially diving 4 times a day. You definitely will get snorkeling opportunities.

    Considering Liveaboard in December, questions.

Yes it will. Each bunk has a shelf that is about a foot wide by the width of the bunk. A Mf towel is a good idea, I bring 2, one for the deck one for showers. They do give you a plastic cup with blue tape on it to write your name. Bring a light raincoat, it could get chilly on deck. Also a dry...

    Scubapro seawings... advice

My advise is to buy them both from the same dealer and try them on. I love my Seawing Novas and my scuba pro boots have 450 dives on them and are still in good shape. I am sure you will get other recommendations, lots of good fins out there but buying good fins to start with is a good idea.

    Cruise Ship Diving

Agree with what has been said. I have always enjoyed dives from a cruise ship You may get to better sites booking on your own and if you can find shore diving you will save money and not have to deal with a cattle boat.

For summer temps in Hawaii lavacore should be fine if you are not cold natured. They are more like a 2 mm.

    Where to become dive master

Sean, in most of these threads many people advise that in order to make it in the scuba industry you need other skills that apply to the diving industry. I was about to do it myself. The fact that you are a helicopter pilot should be marketable in resort areas. That could be your path to a...

Has anyone seen or used the new Scubapro Hydros Pro BCD

I have a couple of questions. First, I was told the reason the trim pockets on the Hydros were on the outside of the bladder rather than on the backplate because it would keep the diver from being pushed face down when on the surface. Have those of you who have used the Hydros found this to be...

    Blackbeard's Aug 5-11 2017 Tips?

Bring less clothes than you think you need, bring quick dry towels, they give you a storage bin on deck for fins, masks, etc so a dry bag helps, request a bunk forward and try not to get bunk 8. Bring a compass. Their max is 22 IIRC. They could squeeze in more but they do limit it. As it...

    Galapagos April 2018

Welcome. Yeah I understand what you mean about pics, they make the boats look a lot better than they are. Check out the Aggressor boat too, they should be nice but are more expensive. Don't think you could go wrong with either. The diving is worth it.
