I am a diver and a network operations engineer. I do not have a dive boat but I would be happy to test drive the software from a customer's POV and let you know what I think.
@northernone I am still sorting it out right now. There is a shop near me that is working on getting some of the gear servicable and I want to use some of it to learn to service gear on as I start my dive master training. I will def let you know what I am getting rid of.
Thanks johnnyC. I...
This should be the last little tidbit that I find in my crates full of gear. I believe it is a DIN to Yoke adapter but I can't figure out what the finger thread thing on the top is. I have two of them.
Thanks for all the replies.
After doing some research and looking at the amount of time I can put I have decided to do basically what yle and oly have said.
1. Get in to the local dive scene ( I just moved here during the winter)
2. If I like to crowd and can find an instructor I like I...
I have been a lurker for a while. Recently I was presented with an "apprenticeship" that fell through because I had to move. I would really like to share the experience of diving with other people. I work in a kind of civil service job now so I don't need to make a million dollars and dive...
Thanks Steve. It has taken some time to sort through all the "donation" and at one time in the last three years I all of these rigs worked (aka: someone used them). Right after I left they went in storage and I took them out of the non-climate controlled storage today... almost 4 years later.
Thanks for taking a look at this thread. I have recently moved and started going through my scuba gear. I have been given a tremendous amount of gear and I need to sort it out. I would like to get opinions on what I should keep and what I should discard. I have taken pics of all of the...
I would think this depends on the circumstances. As a dive pro you could count your total time logging the dives as man hours that you will have to use re-copying them in to a backup and the cost of the new log books.
If you have no intention of re-copying the logs then just the cost of the...
Thank you very much. Is there a place i can get a rebuild kit for this. I have been reading Mr. Harlow's book and would like to use this donated rig to learn the basics on.
I got this for free the guy said he really didn't know what it was that it had been passed around b/t some friends of his as a backup. If anyone knows anything about it I would appreciate it. My best guess is a Genesis, but what model and the age of it is anybody's guess. Thanks.
Can someone please clear this up for me. I just bought a used one (mobby's armor shell for $250.00) and when i went to get the latex seals replaced I was told that they are difficult to get a good bond on. This man was very knowledgeable in the realm of drysuits and some of you have...
Well I finally found a DrySuit on Okinawa Japan. It cost me 250 dollars for the following:
1 Mobby's ArmorShell Dry Suit (magenta). (it needs neck and wrist seals)
1 Harvey's PWT 190 in blue
I plan on getting the silicon neck and wrist seals for it but I am going tomorrow to get an...
If the computer manufacturer releases the information about how their programs read the computer and if it can be exported from the crappy pc programs that come with the computers why can't an online dive logging application be altered to accept the information from the export of the...
Disclaimer: I searched... and since I am in a Divemaster class but not yet a Divemaster I can't get in to the Divemaster or any other PRO area.
I see the PADI insurance case pending litigation so I started researching dive insurance. In my scenario the following apply:
1. Military...
