bolt snap on the neck of the tank

I use neck clip too. Critical when gearing up on rocky boat where conditions do not allow in water gear up.

    Tech in Oahu?

Thanks for the kind comments. I was under the impression that the dive guide should go first? :p Anyway, if you didn't go first who would wait for me at the exit and cut me free from entanglements!

    Tech in Oahu?

I keep checking the Hawaii subform for some reason, maybe it's to give something back to the group of people that showed me a fantastic time while I was over. Dr. Lecter, pensacolaracer and Gabe from Kaimana. Keep having to say thanks even tho it's been a year!! As mentioned, I traveled to...

    Solar 1200 "wet" charge

Thanks for the cleaning tip. Will have to make sure they have vinegar onboard. Maybe I can use a bit of rolled up tissue like the steel wool for drying! :)

    Solar 1200 "wet" charge

Thanks fbk for the advice. I'm planning on rinsing with fresh water first before attempting to wet charge it.

Cheers, thanks for the quick response. Just don't want the boat to catch on fire ;)

    Solar 1200 "wet" charge

Hi All, Might be a silly question. I was wondering if I can charge the Sola 1200 when the connectors are still wet? I've always waited till it's completely dry before charging the unit, but I'm going on a liveaboard soon and may not have time to wait for it to dry completely to top up...

    Stages and deco bottles

I loop the bottom clip back over the 'fuel hose bit' of the stage kit to shorten the length for starters. Like tbone has suggested I clip it onto my hip dring. Still not 100% happy worth it that way but happy enough until I see someone with a better way. Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk

    Decompression Course

Very valid point. But simply doing ART doesn't mean you have to use Trimix for every dive down to your cert level. The way I see it, it doesn't hurt to gain knowledge in Trimix and its uses. If narcosis is not a problem then don't use it, but the theory that you've learned will contribute to...

    Decompression Course

Another vote for IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix. You get exposure to Trimix, 48m depth rating, use of both 50% or 100% deco gas. I don't believe any other agency offer anything similar in a single entry level deco course. I did mine in sidemount.

    Sidemount pouch

Not as cheap as some of the recommended options, but I was recommended this unit by a fellow forum member a while back. It has 2 drain holes at the bottom, I typically carry a 5ft SMB with spool, wetnotes, knife and sometimes a spare torch in it. It's pretty "full" with all those items in it...

    Deeper Wreck Diving in Oahu?

Hi Plavin, my apologies for the late reply. I don't really frequent the forums unless I am asking a few questions :) Hopefully this is not too late. I see that you are already speaking to Dr. Lecter and Scottitheduck on the fourm, you are in very good hands! I was lucky enough to be able...

    Argon bottle placement with SM?

Just pump your 50% into your drysuit? Less equipment to contend with.

    Single Video Light Positioning Tips

Do you mean do something like this (in the first diagram) without the second light? https://www.backscatter.com/learn/article/article.php?ID=15 I often film objects on a wreck at mid sort of distance, getting close probably isn't possible given the size of the item. Will do plenty of...

    Single Video Light Positioning Tips

Thanks all for the tips. Yes I know it'll take some experimenting to work things out, but at least for now I know to start with the light positioned some distance above the camera. With the flexarm setup, above is going to be easier than below :)

    Single Video Light Positioning Tips

Hi All, I'm a video newbie with a GoPro 3+ and a single Sola Video 1200. I've always positioned the light to shine in from the left and recently I've had someone comment that my videos have a fair bit of backscatter from particles and I agree. Looking for any tips on where to position a video...

Scubapro MK17 "black cover / cap" replacement part

Well, I was on sidemount. Pressed myself hard against a wreck trying to get a lobster. I 'think' that's how I lost it :( Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk

Scubapro MK17 "black cover / cap" replacement part

Maniago - I was referring to the red circled part. The reg still works perfectly without it, just means now I'm going to be paranoid about bumping that spot against something while searching for stuff. I think that's how I lost it initally, bumping into a wreck.
