Soda blast it then coat it with POR-15 and the POR-15 top coat to protect it from the UV, I use this paint on parts for my LOCOST Super 7 and the stuff is simply awesome :D
Very true, especially when you consider the fact that other tank monkey's may not be heading the sticker that says O2 safe air on the tank and the possibility of someone using a personal compressor that is not equipped with the correct filters to produce O2 safe air.
It certainly does when you consider that we O2 clean the tanks when they get VIP'ed at our shop, I also will give them a rinse out with tank wash anytime the valve is removed from the tank ;)
I check the hydro dates for the tanks I fill at the LDS where I work, IF I know the tank (see it often) and I have already checked the hydro then I just fill it so long as it's good. However I will not fill nitrox on a tank that has an expired visual because of the fact that we partial pressure...
Forgot to put my T3 in gauge mode today while doing dive for TecXR advanced NITROX class and violated it horribly by flying numbers from the plan and not following the computer, I also forgot to switch to my deco mix on the T3 :shakehead:
Jim, I'll give you a call when I get to the shop today.
The line you are talking about is there it was removed for cleaning when the picture was taken, the previous owner of the unit had been running peanut oil in the compressor and I wanted to get rid of as much as I could from the system...
I have the priority valve for after the filter and the check valve for the inlet side of the tower. I'll try to send the photos in an email but they were taken on my phone and they are stored online Here
This unit will be going into a trailer we tow with us on dive trips and we might put a 2...
I am putting together a portable compressor for my LDS that I do some part time work for and I need some advice on whether or not it should have a mechanical separator or not. I am also curious if there is something else I can use instead of a mechanical separator that will do the same job...
I carried mine all over Europe earlier this summer while I was wandering about on holiday, never had any issues except the obvious odd looks from security :cool2:
If your'e keen on not leaving any real noticeable marks on your reg/ hose fittings then just buy some AN style anodized aluminum wrenches, I have a set for SS hose fittings on my LOCOST and I can use them for the brake lines too. Don't make the same mistake I did and buy a cheap set only to find...
I got flooded out in a dry suit in 43 degree water because of a wrist seal that I did not notice while checking the suit out pre-dive, I managed to complete the dive even with the profuse leak in the borrowed dry suit. however it did become much less fun when the cold arse water got to my crotch...
I agree, I discovered this shortly after acquiring my mill and the lathe. My locost chassis is on a big table with casters although I still haven't built a rolling cart for the mill yet....
I got my OW and NITROX certs last weekend :D now time for more diving. I also made the decision to stray away from my poodle vest and bought a Hollis SMS 100 after trying one out this weekend :D
