Thanks a bunch for the advice, all. Appreciate it!

Leaking from both high pressure and power inflator hoses?

Here’s a picture that shows the leaking from the power inflator hose: I removed the high pressure hose before this dive, so no picture to show the leak from it.

Anybody know where I might be able buy DSS or DSS-compatable wedge blocks these days?

Leaking from both high pressure and power inflator hoses?

On a dive trip last week, both my high pressure hose (flex hose connected to a naked SPG) and my low pressure power inflator hose (flex hose with a quick disconnect) were leaking significantly. All of the hoses are less than four years old, as is my Atomic Z2 regulator, and I take care when I...

Your favourite Cozumel dive site, and why?

Agree on all three. Apparently mine is an unpopular opinion, but I find Santa Rosa to be very overrated. And I generally like wall dives — but I prefer a wall to be more vertical, a drop off into the abyss, and a bunch of pelagics cruising by.

    Casa Mexicana or Villa Escondida?

Casa Mexicana is my preferred place to stay on my annual trips to Cozumel. The location is excellent, the rooms are clean if outdated, the balconies are great for drying gear at the end of the trip, the breakfast buffet is as good as it gets on the island, and the price is right.

    September roll call

I’ll be diving in Cozumel on September 1 and 2. Unfortunately, I am the only person booked with Living Underwater, and Jeremy, the owner/DM, needs three customers to justify taking out the boat. I assume most folks who already have trips booked to Cozumel also have their preferred dive ops and...

Anyone used Rocksteady in Coron? how was the experience?

I dove with Rocksteady recently, and was very pleased with my selection. I did two days of diving and four dives total. Day one was the Olympia Maru and the Morazan Maru, while day two featured the Irako and Akitsushima. The divemasters (Dino, the first day, and Ronaldo, the second) were...

    The all inclusive Oriskany Thread

I'm going to be in Destin on Thursday and Friday for business, so I'm thinking about extending my trip to Sunday so I can drive over to Pensacola and try to dive the Oriskany on Saturday, March 31. A couple of questions for those in the know . . . (1) Weather is always variable. With that...

Direct Flights from Manila to Koror?

CO flies nonstop twice weekly in each direction between MNL and ROR. CO #192 leaves MNL at 10:25 p.m., arriving ROR at 2:05 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. CO #193 leaves ROR at at 9:25 p.m., arriving MNL at 11:00 p.m., also on Tuesdays and Fridays. The fares are typically high, due to...

Which West Plaza hotel in Palau?

I'm looking for a clean, but inexpensive place to stay between disembarking the Palau Aggressor on a Sunday morning and catching my CO flight to Guam early the next morning. The West Plaza chain appears to fall within my budget. But there are four properties to pick from: Desekel, Downtown...

    U.S. to Palau: round-trip airfare for $485 to $550 all-in

Try again or try different dates. Plenty of people have reported successfully booking on FlyerTalk. I had no problem with the sample itinerary I posted above.

    U.S. to Palau: round-trip airfare for $485 to $550 all-in

Korean Airlines is offering airfares as low as $485 all-in from its mainland U.S. gateways to Palau (ROR) on select dates between now and March 2012. The flights feature a simple, single connection in Seoul (ICN). Bookable at expedia.com. Sample itinerary from Los Angeles (LAX): 1 Ticket /...

Thanks to all for the advice. I was able to get my battery changed at Studio Blue.

Where in Cozumel can I get my battery for my Suunto Vytec wrist computer replaced?

I didn't realize until I was packing this morning that the battery on my Suunto Vytec DS wrist computer is about to run out of juice. Is there somewhere in Cozumel where I can get my battery replaced? Preferably near the square? And preferably without running the risk of flooding my computer...

    Palau Aggressor typical itinerary

I'm diving the Palau Aggressor II in November. I'm trying to decide whether to fly out of ROR at 1:45 a.m. on Sunday morning or 2:35 a.m. on Monday morning. To help make an informed decision, I'd like to get a better idea of what dive or dives on Saturday I'd miss out on due to no-fly...

    Any Tropic Dancer, Palau reviews??

Trying to decide between the Tropic Dancer and the Palau Aggressor II for a trip to Palau later this year. There is plenty of information on Scubaboard about the latter, but precious little about the former (at least since it relocated from Fiji). Any reason to choose one over the other?

    Seychelles

I recently returned from a trip to the Seychelles. We stayed at the excellent Aquario Self-Catering Apartments on Praslin the entire trip, but made a day trip to La Digue, which was worthwhile. I did a single dive with Whitetip Divers on Praslin. During the rainy season, which includes...

    flights to Truk/Chuuk

I took CO #958, the Sunday night flight from GUM-TKK, and it was fine. In fact, it made a tidy connection from CO #1, IAH-HNL-GUM. Had no problem getting up with everyone else on Monday morning for the first dive. There's plenty of time throughout the day to squeeze in a nap or two. No real...
