The pilothouse designs seem a tad slow. 15 mph is fine unless the bad weather comes up suddenly and then getting home in an hour seems important. I am thinking below $100K new, preferably a lot less.
The only experience I ever had with an inboard it caught fire and burned to the waterline...
GOOD ?s - "Six divers with gear take up an awful lot of space. Are you considering a trailerable boat or a boat that will always sit at a dock when not in use? Cabin or no cabin? Outboard or inboard?" - Probably just 4 divers, need boat captain and spotter for safety. Non-trailerable is fine...
Well do you want to go out on a boat when I am in the Naples area ?
I don't speak Xosa or Zulu, but I do pretty good "I say, the water
buffaloes are disturbing our braai, what."
I am looking for a power boat I can use for scuba diving, ranging up to 30 miles offshore from Naples FL. I mostly do technical diving exercises and geological formation research.
What type of boat can I safely use off SW FL to cruise offshore in the Gulf, survive 90% of the weather...
Well, just my opinion but
If someone drops the "BIG ONE" due to a breakdown of law and order (or "civilization" if you prefer), you may be better off scuba diving.
Consider the case of "Hajime Iwanaga" who survived the bombing of Nagasaki by being underwater. He lived to tell his tale...
The law of "civilized" western nations (incl the USA) has often held that indigenous peoples had no individual ownership of property and therefore was never subject to the sovereignty of any state prior to "ownership by conquest" by a western nation. This has often been used in Australia...
Can a ladder for scuba diving be rigged on a cigarette boat ? If so, by what off-the-shelf ladder ? I am thinking of trying to arrange diving off the Texas coast using a friend's fast boat, but don't know how to rig it. Only real alternative is overnite on a
much, much slower boat to which I...
I have to get the Seals on my Drysuit replaced. Should I treat the new ones with McNett Seal Saver or 303 to keep them maintained ? Appreciate the advice. I use 303 on my kayaking seals (but not as often as I should)
My thanks to those of you who read this. I received an email from Pro-Sub in Germany which implies (my Deutsch is rusty) the battery is NOT user replaceable, thus no fix is possible. Thanks again ! ["Don, diese Dive Monitor ist über 12 Jahre nicht mehr im Programm und leider kann man keine...
Just need new neck seal, but really would like a full tune up.
Don't want the next failure to be at 100 feet !
Also I want a new inflation hose for it, if you know a source.
Thanks for the invite ! But I shall be in Cozumel, so catch you on the flip side.
(Love the Sun Tzu quote. I reply with a paraphrase of von Clausewitz: "Scuba
diving is peace by other means.")
I am just introducing myself, as suggested by moderator (robot). A new divemaster in Austin TX. Mostly interested in using my scuba skills in my businesses, not as a business. Interested in some dive buddies, but not in getting spammed.
