I would expect temps to be in the low to mid 40's but I have been below 100' in Raystown. Dismal because you never know what vis might be like. Most of the available videos look like about 5' or so. There is a lot of silty material in the water. As for darkness...below 40'' it is pitch black...
I've been told the roof of the powerhouse is between 120' and 140' and that the base of the old dam is around 180'. It'll for sure be cold, dark and probably dismal. Hawn's Bridge should be something similar as far as depths.
Looking to dive the powerhouse and Hawn's bridge. I saw somewhere that a mooring buoy is attached to one or both of these but is set to be some depth underwater. Does anyone know if this is true? Is anybody interested in doing this dive?
OMG! Three hours later? We were going to come back in the morning? Can we leave now? Who in the hell is this guy? Diepolder is shut down? I hadn't heard. I understand the replies to my Tilly Foster inquiries now.
Thanks for the info. It didn't take long (one phone call) to find someone who knows the story of Dan Wright. I think "approach with caution" says it best. Maybe "don't approach" is better. I still hope to someday dive Tilly Foster.
I know about a death 18 months ago, was there another? Is anyone diving it? Among those in the community there must be a realization that this can happen; there have been deaths at Gilboa, yet it is a popular dive site, same for Dutch Springs, etc. I don't want to seem, and I am NOT uncaring, I...
I understand that explicit permission must be given by the owners to dive here. Does anyone know how to contact whoever the owners are? Is there a dive club affiliated with this site that might be contacted?
Unless I find a local driving to either area, I would have to arrange shipping which is not a problem. I would also want the bands. Any pics available?
