I have been made aware of a fairly new wreck to dive in Bonaire called "Our Confidence" near the marina down from Captain Don's. The wreck went down in August of 2003. Any on here dove the wreck, and how is it? We are heading back there for a week on July 3rd. If I could only find a way to...
Many years ago as a young teenager, I was diagnosed with Sinus Arythmia. The way I understood it is that sometime my heart does not get the signal from the brain to beat, so sometimes it misses a beat and flutters. At the time the doctor placed no restrictions in my life and told me to go on...
Jason;
What do you mean by picky? I am going with my wife and 2 teenaged children. I anticipate having one of the cottages. Are the rooms clean? What was it that caused you to give it a not so positive review?

Cabela's has several styles, including a "Military" type. May be worthwhile investigating further. Follow the link below.

Like to hear comments from others.
Isn't this basically the same stuff that is in the underwear marketed by Cabela's? I though I saw bottoms and tops for around $55 to $60. Much, much cheaper than buying underwear from drysuit manufacturers.
I am hoping to get a room with a refrigerator: this way we can get some food from the grocery store and eat lunch at Cap't. Don's. I think our pkg will include breakfast each day, with some kind of Rum party on one evening.
My wife is the shopper; the other three of us dive. She is also content to lay at the pool while we are under the water. She is "out voted" but she also knows how to relax.
Ok folks: I am looking at going to Bonaire in July of 2003. My family has divers and non-divers in it (my wife the non-diver is quite a shopper) :D Now I have some questions for the learned members who frequent this board.
1. How are the accomodations at Captain Don's? Is it a good place...
I found the book. It is called: "American Underwater Odyssey: 50 Dives in 50 States". Barnes and Noble does not have it in stock. Did not check Amazon though.
Well I don't think it is a "big" (size-wise) book. It lists one site in each state. Not sure what the criteria was on choosing each site; maybe free entry? :D
Hey King;
It seems to me there is a book out that features dive location(s) in each of the fifty states. Not sure how comprehensive it is though. A slick idea (I thought) was how the Great Lakes Diving Guide is published. For each section of the Great Lakes, advertising space was sold to...
Calculating your pressure group automatically would be nice. Sea Wolff, gives you space to enter the pressure group, but you have to figure out your group for yourself. It does link to Table Tutor software (which I have) so you can determine the group.
I think a big help would be a...
Just bought the Sea Wolff dive Log Program. It is very powerful (Microsoft Access based it appears), but it is also a bit complicated and cumbersome to use. I need to spend a bit more time on it to get over my learning curve.
I concur completely with Cybordolphin; the DUI setup is very comfortable and gets the weight off of the lower back (I have degenerative disk disease and anytime I can keep weight off of my lower back it is a godsend). I will not go back to using my integrated weight pouches on my DiveRite BC...
I have a 6mm Harvey's wetsuit and a thin hooded vest. I just ordered a 6mm zippered hood to wear over the hooded vest to keep my noggin warm. Now I need to look at gloves. Anyone able to offer any insight on them?
I found seawolff dive logging program for $29.95 (a $20 savings from their website) at www.scubaconnection.com They also have another logging program there for $19.95 which looks nice and allows multiple divers to use it.
Maybe I am missing something here. I am not sure I follow you. You can remove weights from the tops of the pockets on the DUI underwater and replace them (provided the pockets are below the BC, which in my case they are). Grabbing the yellow handles and releasing the weights is for emergency...
I have another question for those who have dived Mermet Springs. What kind of exposure protection did you wear? Hoods, gloves, etc? Wetsuit? How thick? Dry Suit? (I am envious) ;)
Thanks for the link! I found another quarry in Lebanon, TN., that is even closer! Looks a bit primitive still, but maybe it will be developed in the next year or so. At a depth of 160', I am sure us recreational divers will need to be extra careful and know our limits.
