In my full rig, with a five mil suit, I am properly weighted with 12 additional pounds.
How much more would I need to add for a 7 mil? Rough estimate is good. I am going to cold water but won't have the chance to dive the thicker suit until I am there so just want a starting point to fine...
AP pocket reel is the absolute best. Same size as a spool but with a nice smooth handle and a birds-nest resistant design. Option to have the reel where the handle locks if you let it go or it can remain loose. Definitely a 5 star device.
I don't want the small number display. I do a lot of photography and don't want to have to concentrate on my computer. I want "at a glance" instant critical information in big numbers. I would be using the larger and more simply organized rec display all the time. I just want the one...
I think I know the answer to this question but am hoping some experienced users here or someone from Shearwater can weigh in on this.
My one issue with the Perdix display is a large deal-breaking one for me. It is that the "safety stop" is constantly displayed during the dive. For a...
I don't think its rude at all, no worries. I posted here because maybe there is something I don't know about whether it can be disabled that people with experience can share.
I bought a DiveX P1 in 2018. Have about 50 recreational dives on it, with a large camera mounted.
I have nothing but 100% positive things to say about this scooter. It is compact, lightweight, and easily packed to fly, the batteries are flight-legal, so it can go anywhere in the world with...
I know the answer to this question but am hoping someone from Shearwater can weigh in on future changes to this.

That's what I thought also, or perhaps a multi-level dive where you spend a lot of time in the shallows towards the end of the dive (like in Bonaire). But under those circumstances an alert would be pretty meaningless anyway.
How does it behave on a typical deeper dive (60' or more)? Is...
Thats interesting. I would think that at 80% tissue load (I assume this is in the leading compartment) in normal circumstances there would be very little NDL time left.. What were the conditions where it alerted while you still had so much time?
I am not excusing Garimin's approach of...
I am already paying attention to this in regular scuba life. I recently decided to pass on a particular brand of video light. their "battery pack" was basically 4 unidentified brand18650s shrink-wrapped together with wires soldered to them to make a wiring harness that had to be plugged in to...
Hi Stuart,
Yes, I wish I could do a "try dive" with each as you are very right that only a dive will tell for sure. I know that in the shop I much preferred the Perdix to either the Teric or the Garmin on an absolute "computer to computer" basis (due to size of the display). But "watch to...
