    La Jolla snorkeling next week

Is 2MM a good thickness since it's pretty cool but you're on the surface so no compression? I may purchase if I can get one here in time. They're not as expensive as I feared.

    La Jolla snorkeling next week

I do a lot in FL springs. about 70 year round. High 70s, awesome! Low 60s, where's my dry suit?!?! Seriously, I'll look at renting a wetsuit since I don't have one that fits at the moment. Any advice on a place to rent one?

    La Jolla snorkeling next week

I'll be in Escondido for business next week. I've been out of diving for several years so snorkeling is probably the best bet. (Also, rental fees, etc. and snorkeling plus flights is much easier than scheduling diving and flying.) Is there any way (other than asking here) to find people who...

    2013 Fallfest Megadive

You mentioned kids being welcome. I've been a couple of times in the past but don't remember many kids around. Any idea how many kids (particularly in the 4-7 year old male category) will be present for this event or have shown up in the past? 75% chance I'll be there. 10% chance I'll have wife...

Palm Beach Shores area Sunday - Dive Buddy and/or boat/dive advice requested

Thanks for the info on the DIN rental setups. I'd still have to move my stuff over to my preferred first stage, but the conversion to yoke (and back) would be annoying. If you're referring to to the converters to make a DIN tank a yoke tank, I actually have a couple of those in my "save a dive"...

Palm Beach Shores area Sunday - Dive Buddy and/or boat/dive advice requested

Confirmed Saturday evening flight. I'll be booking boat dives for Sunday morning and afternoon tomorrow unless someone responds with alternative solutions. I don't have a buddy, so a buddy would be great either way! :) I'll be bringing reg (I hope I remember how to properly switch from DIN to...

Palm Beach Shores area Sunday - Dive Buddy and/or boat/dive advice requested

I have a site visit next week that I hope to start Monday. That would allow me to arrive in the PB Shores area Sunday and get a few dives in. I'll need to rent equipment (except mask fins, snorkel) and I am open to boat or shore dives, etc. Im a master diver but haven't been in the water for a...

New to diving Lanier, would like a buddy for when equipment is ready in a few weeks

Things got so hectic I only just got my equipment back from service yesterday. Haven't lost the weight either. :shakehead: Oh well. Still hoping to get wet soon, probably in August. I have a 3mm with a 5mm hooded vest (and gloves; hightop booties might fit, but haven't worn them in a while.)

New to diving Lanier, would like a buddy for when equipment is ready in a few weeks

So, I am getting my tanks hydro'd and my regs serviced (years since I dove) and I am losing 20 lbs ASAP. My reward for the 20 lbs will be a trip back to the N Fl. springs for a couple of days of diving, and I'd like to get wet at least once before the trip. (I'd also like to make a habit of...

Thanksgiving Friday, Ginnie, Manatee, Rainbow, or similar

My wife and I will be in Gainesville for Thanksgiving week, and I would love to get some diving in. I may try to get a dive in the previous Sunday, but I definitely want to get a couple of dives in on Friday, preferably morning dives. Ginnie or Manatee are my preferences due to location, but...

    Rumrunner Megadive @ Ginnie !!!!!!!

I would like to come. It depends on rehab for my arm and how busy we are. Mid may was a definite injury-wise, but this earlier date may be a challenge. (For those who don't know, I broke my upper arm badly in a fall down stairs while carrying our baby in mid December. He was fine, but I...

    October Not-Quite-So-MegaDive 2006 Oct. 27-29

What's the latest on the cleanup dive, and what about weather concerns? Weather.com shows AM Thunderstorms for G'ville as well as High Springs. Is there a possibility we pay for the day in plans to get reimbursement, they cancel the cleanup, and we don't get our 2 free days? This applies to me...

    October Not-Quite-So-MegaDive 2006 Oct. 27-29

Looks like I am in for the morning cleanup dive and possibly one other afterward. How do we go about committing for the cleanup and get our free diving? I wish I could stay longer, but family commitments to show off the new baby will limit my availability while in Florida.

    October Not-Quite-So-MegaDive 2006 Oct. 27-29

I just saw this thread. I had thought the October dive wouldn't be happening without Ken! now I have to figure out if I can get my scuba stuff down there. We are definitely hitting the area, the whole family (including my 6 week old son, Connor! :jump3: ) Connor also explains why I haven't been...

Boy, this thread got active over the last few days! I am trying to get a bit of food in me to feel better. Stomach was keeping me awake. Not quite :l: , just need to stop hunger pangs. I am also excited at having gotten my housing for our digital camera! :bang: (Canon SD500) Woo-hoo! Great...

    Panama City Wednesday

I have a site visit next Thursday early morning. I was thinking of heading down late Tues evening and getting in a dive or two sometime during the day Wed. Any buddies available? What type of sites do you have? What's the temp? 3mm? plus 5mm hooded vest?

    Ginnie Springs-Trip Tips

Visibility in the river is not good this time of year, usually about 6 feet. Visibility in the springs themselves is limited by the distance (literally). If you look down the run (and incompentent divers haven't stirred up huge amounts of sand), you see 60 yards of crystal clear water (You can...
