Cabo Pulmo worth the drive & $$ ?

My friends and I went to Cabo Pulmo for a week in August two years ago. It is well worth it. We stayed in bungalows and had an all inclusive meal package. The diving was very good. We saw lots of fish and the food was excellent. The water temp was in the the 70's. We wore 5 mm wet suits (you can...

    Diving with Blue XT Sea

This trip we rented a house called the Casa Rosella. It is about 7 miles south of town. I recommend it if you want a house and want to eat out a lot or cook. It is a really nice place. You won't be disappointed..You can stock up on groceries at the Mega supermarket in town. But you'll need to...

    Diving with Blue XT Sea

My friends and I recently returned from a dive trip to Cozumel. We used Blue XT Sea as our dive operator. Once again Christi and her crew provided exceptional service! The first time I met Christi was back in 2004. Twelve trips later I am still using her as my dive operator. If you want to...

    Implications of dock fee charges

Why not avoid the dock and associated fee by picking up the diver off the beach? What am I missing here?

    Is Suunto really that bad

BeanoJones: I agree with everything you said on your post but I would add that I have read stories about recreational divers getting bent who only have a few dives or only one dive under their belt during the trip when they got bent I remember reading on this Board about a 53 year old...

My wife and I have been diving with Suunto computers for years. We love them. I would recommned the Vyper and Vytec to anyone.

    Suunto Computer's

Since I wrote the post above I've been thinking. Although my wife and I like our Suunto computers a lot, primarily because they are conservative (I am 60, but possess the cat like moves of a man 59 1/2, hehe) they are the only ones we ever dove with so we really don't have a basis for...

    Vacation Report 6/1 to 6/6

Stayed at the Occidental Grand for 5 nights. The room, grounds, pool and beach were very clean and nice. The staff was very friendly. The food was okay. We always found something tasty to eat but the food semed better on some of our earlier trips there. But if you want to stay at an all...

    Suunto Computer's

I bought my Vyper and Vytec (wife's) because they were conservative. We like them a lot and have been diving with them for several years now. They work for us becasue, even with the conservative algorithm we always breathe down our air before we run out of down time.

    Blue XT Sea Diving

Here is my two cents worth: Book with Christi and forget about it. She runs an awesome operation. My wife and I dove with Christi on 7 vacations. You will be very satisfied with the service her crew provides.

    Just booked Cozumel Palace!

Here is my two cents worth. YOu went first class on your hotel, now go first class for your dive operator. Use Blue XT Sea for your dives and forget about it!

Staying at Allegro/Looking for Dive Op

My wife and I used Blue XT Sea on 7 trips to Cozumel and were very satisifed. You will get great service from a very professional and friendly dive operator and crew. We got our Nitrox and Advanced Open Water certifications from them. If you Christi and her crew you will be very happy with...

    Cozumel Choices -- help me!

Sorry to hear you did not like Christi's operation. Here is our experieince with Christi: My wife and I dove with Christi on six different vacations, going again in a couple weeks. Each time we found her very professional, personable and willing to go the extra mile. She only uses experienced...

    Looking for Help

Maybe I am too conservtive but FWIW, if you are arriving on the 6th and leaving on the 9th, 12 dives are a lot. Even if some of them are shore dives. You are only going to have 2 1/2 days to dive, including the day you arrive. Consider, you are going to get up in the middle of the night to...

    Recent Weather in Cozumel?

Don't worry about anything. You ware going to have a great time. You will get in all your dives and get certified and your kids will have a great time too. The Allegro is a good place too.

    Garganta del Diablo -Devil's Throat

Does anyone ever swim the reverse of the dive ggunn described? Enter through the normal exit at 120 feet, swim through the coral formation and exit at 80 or 90 feet or whatever it is? Or is that a dumb idea? I think I will add this dive to the list of dive requests I make of Christi on each...

    Resort info

Here's my two cents worth. The Occidental Grand is the best resort of the three you mention. It is also the most expensive. If you are looking for an AI in the southern region you will be very happy there. As for a dive op, I would recommend Christi at BlueXTSea. You will be very happy with...

    Running and Diving and DCS

Here's my two cents worth. I agree. Don't do any runs. Don't even do easy jogs. It's not worth the risk. Also, if your resort has a weight room, don't use it. And if you have a push-up and sit-up routine, don't do those either! Keep stretching though. And lay off the booze and don't drink a...

    What to bring, besides myself

Hope this helps. Dramamine; swim ear; bandades; sunglasses; a hat; pepto bismol; a dry bag; lots of one dollar bills for tips. Only drink and brush your teeth with bottled water. Keep your mouth closed in the shower and dont bite your fingernails. Also, make a list of everything you are...
