A body was pulled out of the water on Tuesday morning. Miami-Dade police believe the death may have been the result of a diving accident.
Last news was at 8am. Has anyone heard any additional info?
I’m breaking my habit of not doing reviews because I’m so pleased with the product and service. I needed a new wetsuit and decided to treat myself to a custom-fitted 3mil. Connie patiently guided me through a multitude of choices. 26 measurements later, I was on my way to a wetsuit that is...
LImited info from the local news. Older experienced diver reported missing by his dive buddy/niece at around 9:30 this morning. Anyone have any more info? Apparently they've switched from rescue to recovery mode.
Dive computer and compass on bungee mount....contact me and I'll identify by make and model....and can meet to plug into the software to show you my name and phone no. are entered into the computer.

Getting ready for the holidays and put a couple of Exley's books that I haven't read on the Amazon wish list. My wife gently inquired if I was really serious. I checked the prices and am beyond shocked.
From today's prices:
Cavern Measureless to Man $23.39 new
Taming of the Slough...
I know BHB gets the attention, but there are some interesting things to be found right off the beach at Lauderdale by the Sea.
They just wrapped up their Bugfest photo contest: http://www.mylbts.com/bugfest and some of the pictures were amazing, including the seahorse shot (my fave).
Those...
Found it tonite on a night dive almost directly under the bio-rock project float. Looks like it's been underwater for about a day. Describe it and I'll get it back to you.
We've gotten through mini-season without losing any divers ... a pretty notable accomplishment in light of some prior years' experiences.
I don't know how much impact it had, but I noticed a number of local shops offering free refresher clinics prior to the kickoff this year. It was an effort...
After 400+ posts, yesterday a friend/buddy gently beach-slapped me and pointed out that I've never introduced myself here.
Hi. Most of the following is on my profile. Certified back in the 60s in Pittsburgh, Pa, but somehow gave up diving in the early 70s. I've been back into diving for...
Totally cool story....
It's only a matter of time before a diver encounterst this.
:When reports first surfaced in the 1990s of boat builders making submarines for cocaine smugglers in the jungles of Colombia, U.S. law enforcement regarded them as a comic curiosity. Today, with the disclosure...
Report mating horseshoe crabs - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com
Looks like FWC is doing some research and wants people to report sightings. I recall some discussion about horseshoe crabs "not fighting" (jet126's genteel phrasing) at BHB this week. The link to report sightings is here...
Found a spareair on the beach. It is marked with initials. If you're the owner, PM me the initials and how it's marked and we can arrange to get it back to you.
Lost earlier this week somewhere between knee deep about 25 yards west of the lifeguard tower and the parking lot. Of course there's a reward for return. PM me if found.
While I was busy tieing for 4th with three other folks in the pumpkin carving contest this morning, the loop I used to attach the flag to the bottom came loose and flag and line were gone when I turned to pick it up. Checked the beach with no luck, though that's the direction the current and...
Let me start with explaining that I rarely return things and almost never have returned scuba gear.
I bought a Tilos polypro diveskin at a LDS....not my regular one. Four dives (six weeks) later the zipper broke. No prob...back to the LDS who was very accomodating, but said the manufacturer's...
For right now, this is a fantasy trip. I've a window around late August or early September to go to Bonaire. I'm currently AOW/Rescue with around 100 dives or so in the last two years and sporadic experience prior to that.
The place is definitely Bonaire. I expect to have a buddy with...
This is a 3 foot nurse shark we saw just north of Anglin's pier the other day at Lauderdale by the Sea. Obviously he's got this plastic ring (I think it might be a bucket top) stuck around him, which won't bode well for him health-wise. The fish hook trailing from his mouth won't help much...
Last week I read Shadow Divers - awesome book.
Today I finished Submerged, by Daniel Lenihan...also a good read.
I've been through most of Clive Cussler's stuff, and prefer his nonfiction.
Recommendations anyone? I'm open to any input.
Thanks ahead of time.
