If you have a close enough dive buddy / friend you can also split the cost and share it as a communal piece of equipment. I did that with a buddy of mine for the new airsoft analyzer. Since we dive with each other all the time it made sense

Sounds like a pretty cool experience. Awesome bit of history. Those are the exact reasons I support hog as (if I'm wrong correct me) they are one of the few company's here in the US today that provide/allow hands on training of end users.

Scuba pro does not want individuals servicing their own regs, only tecs working at SP dealers, HOG is more in DIY friendly in this regard. The company is more appealing to me for this reason and may be to others as well. That is my only point.

Yeah, I know people do service their own SP regs, a buddy of mine does his own but SP won't sell you the service kits, you have to find them on eBay or find a shop that will sell them to you. HOG is way more friendly to the diy customer. Nothing against SP regs how they perform or whatever I...

I'd suggest you forget SP if you're going tec. Get HOG or Deep Six. Going tec it's likely that you'll wind up with way more than 3 regs and you'll want to be able to service them yourself.

I'm trying to find a class for the TDI/Hog regulator service course. Does anyone know of a listing for instructors that teach this? Ideally I'd like to find a class close to Southwest Ohio but realize that may or may not be possible. I've looked on the TDI and Edge/HOG websites but don't see...

I usually just use a roller. Sometime I'll put dumbell weight plates on top if I want to maintain pressure. I use DAP weld wood contact cement from my local hardware store.

After removing the old seal, doing the prep and applying the glue I just use a basket ball to prop the suit up directly under the neck of the suit. I put the seal on "free hand" then use a roller to ensure good contact.

I'd also throw in some Alieve or other NSAID to reduce any inflammation which could also be contributing. I used to take 12 hr decongestants when diving with sinus congestion but now just Advil or Alieve

As far as glue options go another you could experiment with would be a contact cement like what's used for seals and zippers. I use DAP wood weld, $10 at Lowe's. I've done wrist, neck and zippers with it and have had no issues.
