After reading the article, it is apparent to me that money is the answer to all problems...never mind that a person, through gross negligence, has died because of ineptitude.

I was diving with a group yesterday near Palancar Gardens and we kept to around 45' because of the current ripping. After everyone got back onboard, we drifted to a vortex in the water...never seen that before and I didn't realize that it was associated with a down current.

I dove with Blue Magic last November and they are fantastic....good price, good equipment, and great crews on their boats and in their office. We are going back next January and plan to dive with them again!

That is what we thought too, but after talking with the aircraft crew, it really was a maintenance issue. Judging by the way the pilot landed at MIA, it is no wonder they had a flat tire prior to picking us up in Cozumel!!

We left Cozumel on Monday, the 18th bound for Miami, three hours late due to a maintenance issue (flat tire in Miami). We were lucky because of a scheduled 5 hour layover at MIA, we didn't miss a connection but over half of the other travelers would have missed their connections if it wasn't for...

That is what I thought...too far out to be a surface swim.....

I just saw on the NC Archeological site that there is a blockade runner ship sunk out in the ocean off of the NC Aquarium. Has anyone dove this wreck and if so, was it a beach dive? I'm going to be at the Ft. Fisher Air Force Rec camp the last week on October.

Coming down Nov 8- 15, a reschedule from a cancelled trip last January. Staying at Casa del Solar Centro and going out with Blue Magic.

Thanks everyone for the replies. This will be my first trip to Coz and is the first trip to Mexico since 1982. We'll just take our little bottles and if they get taken, oh well!!

I just read through the sticky about entering Cozumel at the airport and I read several comments that said they had their liquids (soap, shampoo, ect) confiscated for not being in original packaging. On the Official Mexican site (Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México) it doesn't say it...

Glad to see you on the boards!! I watch your show as well as the other "gold" shows. You have my admiration!! When I lived up in Anchorage, I never thought about diving for gold but I did learn to pan!!

I am going to Cozumel in January and I haven't decided on a dive op yet, but rest assured, my decision will be based recommendations and my own research, not on what the dives cost. See you all soon!
