As somebody living in the EU, I appreciate your update and that you had a positive outcome. My old Cobra (build by Jacques Cousteau himself) needs replacement and I was looking into SW Peregrine. A service center IMHO in Germany or the Netherlands would have been a better choice.
Can't probably think straight since this is quite a sad incident. I may have trouble expressing myself. Allow me to give it another try.
I agree with you that as a Nitrox diver, you check your gas, write on the sticker the oxygen level date and sign it. What I am trying to say is, that I have...
Agreed. How about this, non Nitrox divers don't even know what Nitrox is. So when you are on a boat and have 2 different sets of tanks and don't know which is which, how does a non Nitrox diver know it? A non Nitrox diver never learned to test his gas. It could have been anybody that was on the...
Unless you have somebody experienced around you, I would take the class. This way you will reduce the learning curve. Also, I don't think anybody mentioned it, you will use your suit as your BC. Good luck and have fun with it.
My condolences to his friends and family. Sad to see someone like that go this way.
I have a stupid question, since it was apparently a charter (let me know if I am wrong) don't the tanks have to be marked with a s yellow/green sticker for nitrox?
From the looks of it, I would guess bubble tip anemone. I have only seen the red and green bubble tips, never an orange one though. Any pics from the sides?
Uwatec!!! I had an uwatec air years ago and now use a suunto. I won't get another suunto unless they give to me for free. They don't respond to my email complaint. So I am apparently not important since I am just a customer.
First reg I ever bought was an Atomic and I dove with many other brands including Scubapro, Oceanic, HOG and even Mares. From your list of those three brands I would go either with 1. Atomic or 2. Scubapro. Either the Mares 22 that I used in a pool was not properly serviced or it was its nature...
I just returned from a trip to the keys and dove with Silent World. I would highly recommend them. Boat is small but you can combat it in terms of seasickness with pills. Captain and everybody else from Silent World were very helpful and patient while gearing up and back on the boat.
I meant on LP hose and second stage. But I am open to other options. I like the idea to route the house under my arms though.
Did this change for you in comfort level? Did you do both changes at the same time or just upgraded to make it more to your liking?

Oh, don't worry! I am from N Indiana and will be there for 2 days until we fly to SoCal then Fl Keys. But, hey I thought that since we were only 2 1/2 hours from Gilboa on Labor Day, why not!?
That sounds more like it. Gilboa is a great quarry. I did my advanced cert there. When will you be in...
I want to reroute my HOG 2nd stage for comfort. Do you guys use an elbow so the hose is rerouted under arm or should I get a swivel adapter like the Omnis?
What do you prefer and why?
Thanks
I believe it was an old reg. Other more seasoned divers/instructors there seemed to know more about same thread issues (it happened in 2000) and mentioned that it couldn't happen with the newer regs.
