    Scubaspa?

Liveaboards are the only way to go for the serious diver. The food is good, the interest is all divers, and you get to spend hours/day under water doing what you came to do and enjoy. Nitrox is nice too, when you can get it. 5 star, all inclusive vacation spots, are strickly that. Casual...

Why should warm water divers consider the UK?

Been diving in Canada, my home, for 40 years. Water is usually cold. Mostly the great lakes. The lakes are cold at depth 4C. The St. Lawrence and the lakes are full of wrecks and during the summer months the St. Lawrence is warm +20C at all depths. Not the lakes at depth. You will need a...

    Best non-liveaboard diving in Cuba?

I packed my equipment in my luggage except for my dive computer. Galeleo Sol. That brought out supervisors and big questions. They would not let be show them what it was but asked if it was a gps. This is my 5th trip to Cuba and it is not for the diving or the food but the people are nice.

    Out of air incident.

cbi: I just got back from Cuba and did a 2 tank boat dive off of the north islands NE of Varadero penninsula. The tanks they were using were 200 bar, I am from Canada and use bar not psi, But my consumption was higher than normal. The tanks are Faber, steel, 8"?diameter and short. I...

Filmmaker Rob Stewart dies off Alligator Reef

NetDoc et al: just to interject; but all dive accidents have opinions about every element of the incident. Shoulda done this, shoulda done that, is it irresponsible, is it reckless, is it because the pay out is more, who knows. Can we learn from this event? It it turns out to be like other...

Filmmaker Rob Stewart dies off Alligator Reef

CCR having adjusted for low O2 PP at depth could have carried them up to 20 feet of the surface but then to the surface would have caused them to black out due to low O2. Identical equipment, same dive times. Just saying, but there is a lot at stake here.

    Costa Rica 2014

Landshark; I dove with Scuba Caribe, 9 dives, March 1,2,3,4,6 of 2014. I bought 10 but they cancelled one day as I was the only diver. They are a good outfit but you are mixed with divers with no equipment and as few as 3 dives over their life. Not good. The water temperature at the surface...

    Calgarian suing diver training organization

Steve: I agree with you whole heartedly. When it comes right down to it you should always have 100% redundancy. When you operate out of your own home then that is easy but on a trip to Mexico; well all you get is one container with 80 ft3 of air and hopefully nothing else. My next trip in...

Fatality Cabo San Lucas March 3

Swampdiver and Aggiediver Not sure if you guys are properly comparing CO with CO2. They are not the same. So breathing into a CO (Carbon Monoxide) monitor or tester to check for your exhale gas CO level will not work.

GoPro HD HERO2 HERO 2 OUTDOOR plus LCD BACPAC, 16GB SDHC Blurfix Flat lens USED

Have been using a Cybershot DSC-T77 with a housing for the past few years. Not bad but a hog on batteries (Sony special) and uses only Sony SC cards. You need an adaptor to port them into the computer. Just saying... Mayber they have changed or it may not matter to you. Good Luck

What rig would be better for me?

the boat is still at the dock. I have a double bladder OMS. the bladders lay on top of each other. What i was suggesting was a double bladder in one wing with the bladders laid out left side and right side. This would help to adjust ones role. It would be like transferring fuel from one wing...

What rig would be better for me?

It sounds like a segway to side mounted BC. My OMS has double inflation but they are on top of each other. Someone has to bring out the double bladder SM configuration. Wait I have said too much.

What rig would be better for me?

What are u wearing for thermol protection. That is the ultimate air space that has to be weighted down. Al or steels are negitive bouyant when mt or at least close to it. The weight you need for those tanks should be for your full swing from negitive bouyant when full to negative bouyant when...

    Nomad XT rigging/adjustments feedback appreciated

spatman Considering your diving dry with drygloves I think you are looking good. If those are dry gloves then do you have any problem hooking the inflator hose up to the suit? If the inflator is on your sternum, then does the chest strap ever interfere with the inflator button or the hose...

    LP108's for SideMount

I have used Worthington hp130s. They are big and weight 60# each out of the water. They have a full swing of 11# but I have never emtied them. I do not cave dive but SM for the shut down ability, just can't seem to reach those manifold valves on the twins. One problem with the big heavy tanks...

    Average Gas Consumption?

What I have found helpful is to keep your bouancy correct. That is very little air in your BC/WING. When I need a little in my wing I inflate orally. Using multi-tanks you will bet used to switching regs or get a combo reg/will inflator system. Another thing that I have found nice is a well...

inflator valve, chest strap, inflator hose comes off

I am having trouble with my sidemounts and my OMS harness IQ with a "profile" for side mounts. The chest strap is needed with the side mounts and that goes across my fussion wetsuit right where the inflator valve is. The inflator hose is also a problem as the wings on the pull ring catch on...
