Kubi Dry glove rings with blue smurf gloves

Been using them for about 4 years now with smurf type gloves, I threw the black glove out immediately as they do not have any durability. Last year I switched to using a silicone glove that is made by aqualung (I think?), dark green/grey in colour, great dexterity, tough and they seal great, no...

    Victoria Vis conditions?

Went to Tyee up here in Nanaimo to work on a few projects I have on the go, and vis at about 6pm was maybe 5feet. The water was also starting to look a bit stringy like it does in the summer with algae blooms. Fingers crossed it was just because it was low tide.

    Victoria Vis conditions?

Vis at tyee wasn't much better today then it was yesterday, although below the 90 foot mark the vis was drastically better. There was two open water classes (one with about 6 divers and the other group looked to be about 12) that were doing their dives in the shallows, which stirred up the much a...

    Just Ordered a new Drysuit!

Keep us posted on how you like it. I've been looking into one for awhile and decided to stick it out with my santi for another year, its starting to show its age, still no major leaks besides having the boots done. Anyways, I'm very interested in the 4th element suits. Nobody I know has one...

    Love my heated vest!

There have been recent burns with these vests, and I know of another who had their vest melt. Both within the last two years.

    Victoria Vis conditions?

Well we didn't have much of a blow out last year from the herring spawn, well that I remember. Now the summer on the other hand was some of the worst vis I had seen on the island in quite awhile. here is hoping we have a great summer for visibility.

    Victoria Vis conditions?

Dove Madronna last night, vis was garbage 5-10 feet, mind you it was low tide so I didn't expect much anyways.

    Victoria Vis conditions?

Dove Tyee today, Vis was maybe 30 feet today, pretty much stayed consistent to 150feet. Didn't see the wolfies, but I wasn't really looking, apparently from the two Divers that were there (Chris and Kathy, think it was Kathy, I forget her name from Courtenay, I apologize if I got that wrong)...

    Victoria Vis conditions?

Vis at Tyee was 40-50 feet, kind of hard to say for sure given it was night, but if it was better then that it wasn't by much. Stayed pretty much the same to 150. To bad it wasn't the same as it was in October when we had nearly gin clear waters for a few weeks. Still better then it is...

Santi Flex Sole - Hole and abrasion problem

Just get yourself an old latex neck seal and some seal cement. Cut a piece to fit the area that is wearing in the flex soles. This can be your sacrificial layer. Scuff up the latex and the boot, then clean with rubbing alcohol or whatever. Make sure it's dry. Apply two coats of seal cement to...

Santi Flex Sole - Hole and abrasion problem

Just had my flex soles replaced. Although the halcyon/santi rep was extremely helpful and wanting to go the extra mile, I also know him. I just couldn't justify the cost to have the boots replaced with original santi. The price I was quoted was close to 700 dollars cdn all in. The boots...

Dive boat capsizes, spills 9 divers - Victoria Canada

Yup I read that part, just asking if anything else came out or he heard anything more. I'm surprised as that boat had a fairly large freeboard as Dave mentioned, way more then most that i have seen here on the island. Regardless I'm just glad everyone was/is okay. Regards Steve

my silicone seals fit perfectly without having to cut. Normal?

I don't cut mine either and I am by no means small :(. With the silicone seals I don't have to cut them, they're more accommodating of varying neck sizes then latex. That being said they are a bit snug on the surface, underwater I don't even feel them at all. Regards Steve

    Best Dry Glove Ring System

Good question. I'm not 100% certain but as long as there is a seal (latex/silicone) installed in the SI Tec pu system (this is the quick seal change setup with oval rings right?) that you should be able to install the rings onto them. There would be a lot of bulk around the wrists now and I...
