In batteries bigger is better, same with wattage though. I have the 10W and it was a great light when I first got it. Now that all my buddies have 18 or 24W it might as well be halogen, I have such gear envy.

Assuming its not a joke you can put pockets on your harness but might find you trim out better with weight belt.

Lots of folks have a small container with vinegar in the first aid or sav-a-div kit for these occasions, don't go looking through the galley for it. I find asking about first aid resources of the boat during the brief answers many questions. As Dectek indicated, if vinegar isn't available...

Tons of people have trained there. You might do better finding an instructor you like and training whereever they are going to be though.
