John,
I've got a call into my local shop here in SW Florida (ive moved in the last 6 months). Anyway, this guy claims to have worked on the UDS in the past and might...MIGHT have some spares for it. Now, just got to get around the hydro problem. Hopefully you get yours back in action sood...
Teddy Roosevelt is remembered as a wonderful conservationist, and he was. However, if you go to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, half the exhibits in there contain the notation..."Shot by Theodore Roosevelt". He was a "Great White Hunter" who cared so much for the animals that he...
Been watching it on Hulu for a while now. I was too young even for the reruns. Like an earlier poster said, it got me interested in vintage equipment diving. Got an Aquamaster and a set of double 45's and a big ass knife. It really freaks out the "modern" divers when I don my mask on my...
I'm afraid that this set is going to become a wallhanger...dammit. The cost to get it up and running, coupled with the fact that most diveshops in my area refuse to fill older Al tanks even WITH the eddy-current test makes me think it's just not worth it. Perhaps I'll pull the system apart...
I'll do that, but I'm curious, how do you get around the eddy current test? It's my understanding that the tanks must be eddy current tested, however, no one has a fitting for the 1 inch tank threads. I'd love to dive this thing but I just don't see how this is possible.

I figure if anyone knows, it'll be you guys. Does anyone have any information on the UDS-1 system? I just acquired one in trade from a neighbor. He is an old (OLD) diver who at one time was president of the Underwater Society of America and has dove with all the ledgends...Cousteau, Cressi...
I'll second what Elmer said. On my old truck, nothing would stick to the RhinoLining in the bed. It made for easy clean up, but there where a few decals that I wanted to put on the front of the bed but it was a "No-Go" item.
I think I'll go for the cold galvenize finish on the doubles I got...
Took my 1957 AquaMaster to the local scuba park for an end-of-summer dive with the family. I THOUGHT it'd be relaxing to throw a steel 72 in the old Healthways tank pack, put the DAAM on it and jump in the water. Freedom of movement, a light setup, becomming the manfish the JYC waxed poetic...
Just picked up a set of SWEET double 45's from Old Mossback this afternoon. The day was going really well until I got rear ended on the way home. My F150 has a bit of bumper damage. His Accord...well, it didn't look too bad when the tow truck pulled away...except for the hood, radiator, big...
