Maldives Liveaboard that is offering more than 3 dives per day.....

I am also not aware of anyone offering 4 dives a day; I was there on a 10d liveaboard a few years ago and we never had 4 dives a day. I think actually the problem is diving from the dhoni which I beg to disagree with the OP above who said that is "brilliant". Going back and forth with the dhoni...

    Saumlaki

Is there anything to do there? I cannot seem to find any info on dive operators, sightseeing or even if there are any nice beaches there either. I am considering taking a liveaboard from there so I wouldn't mind spending a couple of days in advance there on a beach...

Lembeh - are we doing it wrong?

I confirm I have seen a DM "hiding" a harlequin shrimp and feeding it with a sea star limp ... here is the evidence: As an aside, I have dived with 2Fish in the past and the guide (not DM) was awful; he even forgot to replace his tank for the second dive once and had to resurface ... and...

Trip Report from Raja Ampat aboard the Calico Jack Liveaboard

sorry but if out of 10 days there were only 5 with 4 dives and actually 3 days with just two dives I don't consider it to be a "very good number of dives" ... Especially given the fact that you didn't visit any remote areas like Wayag for example ...

    WP-DC34 Shutter Button Half-Pressed Around 15m

I tend to use a tooth pick which helps introducing some grease into the tiny holes of the individual buttons. After the grease is in I press them multiple times in order for the grease to spread if possible to all the surface of the buttons. You are right, the button o-rings cannot be removed...

    WP-DC34 Shutter Button Half-Pressed Around 15m

I have experienced this with a couple of Canon housings after repeated usage without cleaning up the O-rings. Try cleaning up the o-rings and grease them properly. It should resolve the issue; if not, it means the case has reached the end of its shelf life I am afraid. Doubt the Meikon would be...

Any update on the Brothers Islands diving moratorium?

Very good video from the incident ... the guy that got bitten also telling his story: The moment a diver furiously tries to escape from a shark before being bitten on the leg | Daily Mail Online

    East Timor

I went with the Junk but I think it was a one off ... they don't do this trip any more. I can find this page which shows the itinerary if it helps: June Hong Chian Lee (better known as The Junk) - Timor-Leste Liveaboards - Dive Discovery Timor-Leste

    East Timor

the logistics to get there are not easy but the diving is top class. I was lucky to be on an exploratory 12 day trip on a liveaboard that covered the area around Dili, Atauro and all the way to the east side. I remember I saw my first hammerheads in Atauro; the macro around Tasi Tolu is top...

Jellyfish Lake in Palau officially re-opens.

I did manage to find an operator that would take me to the Jellyfish lake as part of a snorkelling trip. It was good fun, jellies were not millions but thousands but the population is increasing by day so by the time you are there it might be as good as before. here are a couple of pics I took...

Palau, Micronesia / Report & Videos

thanks for the tips, very useful, esp. the open door one! do you remember if they were strict on having an international licence? or if it was possible to hire a motorbike? I am thinking of doing just that, wandering around the islands and stopping in some nice beaches ... should be great.

Palau, Micronesia / Report & Videos

Hi m_BK, really nice videos, going to Palau soon and I am trying to figure out the best operator for the sightseeing flight. Were you happy with Smile Air? can I ask how much did it cost you and whether it was easy for you to take pictures? You got some really nice ones. If you also have any...

    Best spots in Raja Ampat?

I agree with Dan said above, i.e. make sure you got to Misool and Melissa's Garden. I would also recommend Dampier Straits and specifically Kape Cri and Blue Magic; the later was one of the best sites I visited in Raja Ampat. But make sure you visited first thing in the morning away form the...

what is this? nudibranch? - found in Raja Ampat

the below found in about 20m deep in one of the Raja Ampat sites. It was black coloured, spiney, and it was moving so it appeared to be some kind of nudibranch but I as not able to determine which side was it's head or its tail ... I would appreciate if anyone had any ideas. thanks

G16 with +10 - Macro setting or not?

I recall I saw no difference on my old G11; same thing for my G7x. For what is worth I have set it by default to macro.
