Question A day of diving in Tahiti or Moorea

What are you comparing it to? Most of my diving has been in the Caribbean. Four years ago I went to the Philippines and was blown away. Caribbean diving is quite disappointing after the Philippines.

Question A day of diving in Tahiti or Moorea

Our daughter and son in law have invited us to Tahiti for their 20th anniversary! A friend who dove Tahiti many years ago said that he wouldn't bother taking dive gear because the diving sucks. What's the consensus here? I'm going to bring my gear and dive at least one day, but my wife says she...

    To camera or not?

I never show people my pictures I they ask. A lot of folks know that we dive and are curious about what there is to see. Maybe your friends are not curious? Or maybe the pictures are truly boring. The dive master I was showing pictures to yesterday asked about some of the things we saw on our...

    To camera or not?

I'm constantly showing people my pictures. This afternoon I was showing pictures to a dive master that we dove with yesterday

    To camera or not?

I should have waited some before I took a camera, but I don’t take pictures for anyone but me! I share them with people who ask about diving, many, many people are very curious.

    Robert Couvillon (Couv)

He is survived by Miss Julie and their two sons and another son by a previous marriage. His funeral is on 1/2. I've been trying very hard to not bother Miss Julie, but I will try to get more info about his funeral. I have forwarded a link to l Luis's post to her and she will read it when...

    Tahiti?

My wife and I have been to Costa Rica 14 times and she got certified there. Our last two trips were as tour guides. There are so many cool fun things to do there and if you like wildlife, it's pretty hard to beat. The major drawback is things are quite spread out. Diving wise, it's all on the...

Poor diving techniques I noticed during this week's trip.

I’ve played sports at a fair high level all my life and have watched lots of people struggle with things that they don’t know! My approach is always to ask if they mind a suggestion. If they say no, I tell them what they’re doing wrong and suggest how they might fix it, if they’re not...

    Costa Rica

We have done two dives on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, visibility was bad but lots of life. We have tried several more times to dive there and couldn’t because of zero visibility, this seems to be the norm. My wife did her certification on the Pacific side and we’ve done a fair amount of...

Question Advice for group of new divers - seeking convenience

Scuba Club is quite nice, have been there 8-9 times. Definitely a dedicated dive resort. The dive operation is very good, if you can get Geyser as your DM, you will be very happy, Choky is also quite good.

    Ocotal Beach

El Ocotal resort used to have an excellent dive operation, if it’s no longer, it is a real loss. My wife did her certification there. Most shops there will pick you up at your hotel if it’s on the water. There are no docks or piers to my knowledge, they back the boat into the beach and you board...

Good dive shops in St Croix

We have a referral from our local shop and are set up with a shop there. Unfortunately he now has covid, and won’t be able to make the trip! I have postponed his dives there and hopefully we’ll be able to do it at a later date

Good dive shops in St Croix

Thank all for the input! Booked our flights yesterday, still haven’t decided which shop to use but it sounds like there is no bad choice!

Good dive shops in St Croix

St Croix dive shops. My grandson just finished his pool work and we are hoping to take him to St Croix in February. Looking for recommendations for a shop to do his open water dives. Probably not going t be staying in Frederiksted or Christiansted, but definitely want to dive both sides of the...

    Savedra Dive Center Dive Safari

I started looking at options for diving in the Philippines last March until Covid and gave up any plan for this year! What really caught my eye was the Dive Safari offered by Savedra Dive Center in Moal Boal. Has anyone done this and if so, what is your opinion?
