I would say the reef is about a 1/4 mile south from the pier. It is very close to shore. The operator that I run my groups with told me he only likes to do this dive in the afternoons because it is shallow and there is to much boat traffic going to their surface intervals at the pier.

This is just south of Palancar pier in about 15'-20' ft of water.
