thanks dr. i would love to find a few people with the same enthusiasm as me and the same drive, motivation and time as well. if i could find 3-5 more people, and set a weekly, biweekly, or monthly dive trip, that would be awesome. i dont care if we are scattered all over the coast. i just want...
im looking for a diving partner. im in the pascagoula area and am anxious to get in the water. im not a spear fishermen. although i would like to learn, i have no training or gear. i am an Advanced open water diver, and am looking to practice a little photography while under. if you are...
Just like it says. im in Gautier MS and im itching to get in the water. i would like to start a group or club for divers around this region so if anyone is interested in maybe weekly, bi-weekly or monthly dive trips nearby, im willing to take the reigns and set up lodging and itineraries for...
haha. i guess i should have read all 10 pages but i couldnt stand reading all the crazy posts on how he should have learned it elsewhere instead of a discussion forum specifically designed just for that type of conversation. its ok though, i got how i feel about all of these invalids off my...
this is so ridiculous. the guy asked a simple question. he should be given an answer. YES the LDS should have gone over some of the what ifs. i agree. BUT, they cannot possibly go over every singe one of them. there are plenty of unique things that have probably only happened a hand full of...
i agree. i went there last year with my wife and friend. we watched as all the trash flooded in and parked as close as possible and after our first dive, a sheriff showed up and it took him about 15 minutes to get every car that was illegally parked out of there. he had his lights on, sirens...
yeah thanks for the info. i remember when it first went down. we had some people from here go out there to try and help. i hope they get some answers for both parties sakes. familes and vortex. im sure its pretty weird to have the authorities just stomping around randomly trying to put pieces...
as far as i remember from previous coverage, the bottles were all full. im starting to think maybe this was an insurance scam. although the family cannot collect for 7 years if there is no body, it would be a good investment in someones eyes im sure. i think there would be more evidence other...
i think there is very good point to this thread as there are alot of people that either dont keep up with the day to day news or just have happened to miss the little bit of new that has been covered on this topic. i dive to vortex as my "home spring" so to speak but i am far enough away that my...
i see there were about 2-3 different threads, all locked shortly after they were started, and no one ever followed up. i have been to the vortex in ponce de leon fl a few times and plan on going again here shortly and was wondering what was going on around there. please stay on topic so we can...
i agree with deac.
i would venture to say that i add more buoyancy to my person with the addition of 3 mil gloves, than i do with a few cubic mil's of air.
thanks for the input. i came up with this same solution but since i didnt have one readily available, i felt i should stick to what i could prove. i guess i should add that idea into my DIY. thanks. sorry no pics still. my camera had gone down and i was sick for almost a week. kinda strayed away...
oh and i will never try molding my own hard weights. lead shot in a 100% sealed bag or container, even doubled up for good measure, and inserted into a mesh net or nylon material of some sort, will not only be easier, but safer for you and the ecosystem as well as keep your gear from getting...
The vacuum sealer is probably the best idea. thanks for the input.
as far as the money savings are concerned, it was going to cost me around 5$/lb. so for 25lbs, i would have paid $125. thats just for me. i have to equip my wife as well so another 15-20 lbs would have costed me around $100...
thanks for your help. my wife hasnt yet been to her first class but shes already decided that she would like to go on a shallow dive (30-60 ft) and then one deeper dive (60-100 ft). we may book multiple trips with you in a weekend or something like that. i think she will be thrilled to know that...
