    Emerald Lake in July

I just noticed this thread, and am grateful for the long range planning. I am,most definitely, interested. I did not see if anyone who has responded so far has experience lake diving at altitude, but it is, assuredly, a different way to roll. I finished my dry suit and Nitrox certs in July...

    Your Regulator of Choice?

Okay. Here's my quick reply. Your Aqualung Legend is a very nice reg - my wife bought one last year and I like it almost as much as the Sherwood Maximus I've been using for the last ten years. The Maximus is light, simple and extremely easy to maintain. I've hauled it through just about...

    Flaming Gorge Trip!!

What a great idea for a road trip!! I didn't know you could dive there. Sometime in August sounds about right for planning purposes, and I'm definately interested. I have a rather large Honda van which will carry four people and a TON of gear comfortably. I would also be happy to assist with...

    questions on sherwood maximus

I agree that the Shadow+ breathes hard - very hard! I use it because it lays flat and pretty much out of the way - nothing much else to recommend it. The Maximus has become my favorite reg because of the rather unique swivel that allows the hose to be routed underarm rather than over the...

    Rocky Mountain Diving

Welcome aboard!! Nice to have another semi-sane lake diver available. Now that it's getting a bit warmer I hope those of us that are interested can schedule some lower altitude outings - whenever at least some of the ice thaws.

    Rocky Mountain Diving

Yup. You are thinking of the club at Denver Divers on 6th Avenue. I don't know if it's still active, but it was up until a couple of years ago when the shop was sold. I knew some of the old members, but have no idea if the new folks kept it going.

What trips do you have planned?

Except for it's isolated location and odd billing system (the hotel, the restaurant and the dive shop are all separate operations) Habitat (Curacao) is an excellent dive resort. It's a long and expensive ($35) cab ride into Willemstead and the resort bus runs only a couple of times a day. Rooms...

What trips do you have planned?

I was in the Pompano/Ft Laud. area over Christmas. Weather was horrible, but I found a couple of boats that went out anyway. The wrecks are great - try to find a ride out to the Tennaco Towers if you can. It's a real interesting dive. Spent Christmas 2003 in Curacao (stayed at Habitat). Had a...

    Florida trip Dec

I will be coming down to Naples on Dec 20th and leaving on the 26th. I will very likely be over in the Ft Lauderdale/Pompano Beach area on the 22nd and/or 23rd. Since I'm by myself, I would like to hook up with a SMALL group going out on either of those days. Thanks,

    Cairns suggestions

I would suggest you have a look at the Coral Tree Inn. Rates are mid-range and include breakfast. It's a ten minute cab ride from the airport and a five block walk to the Esplanade (restaurants, bars, shops, etc). http://www.hotels.com/property.jsp?property=255364&gds=3 The hotel has an...

Where can I buy aqualung bcs?

If you are interested in a used, but not abused, unit I have one for sale. It's about four years old: Aqualung Cousteau RDS, size XL. Integrated weight pockets, mechanical release. Excellent shape, no dings or tears; used for about 100 dives. It also has not been wet since it was last shop...

    Colorado Divers

Welcome aboard! The Blue Hole is about it in this area for reasonable viz and wetsuit temps. It is, however, a b-o-o-o-ring five hour drive from Denver (okay, four hours from the Springs). It's also quite crowded on weekends as just about every shop in three states uses it for OW training...

    Dive-Rite BC

I have a Transpac II with Rec Wings. I find this to be a good set up for singles, and an excellent choice for double tanks as well.

    NITROX Yes or no ???

[QUOTE=Bubblemaker_ontario]I am considering taking a NITROX course and was wondering what percentage of recreational divers use Nitrox. I know the advantages are longer NDL's ; reduced decompression penalties due to lower nitrogen levels; shorter SI's and generally feeling less tired or...

    Scuba Therapy?

I concur, absolutely. I come to realize that my dive trips are the best form of therapy I could ever imagine. This is never more apparent than when I "snap back" into "reality" a couple of days after returning home.
