That looks like the RIX that was EBAY'd out of Tampa. You got a real fair deal on it. I have the other one they had, which was a bit newer. So far, I have rebuilt the carburetor and the fuel pump for the motor. I have replaced all the valves and the associated o-rings, etc., in the heads. I will...
Need more pictures to be sure, but it looks like it could be a Poseidon to me. They use a mixture of proprietary parts and Bauer parts. I can not recommend an older one, since some of the proprietary parts are just not readily available or excessively expensive. I spent quite a bit of time...
I am looking to buy 3-6 4500 psi cascade/bank bottles. Hoping to find something in Florida, or decent shipping. Leads are also much appreciated.
Cheers, Walt
I would have to agree with Wookie about the danger to the valves if your helium streams or gets to high in concentration. I had a reed type valve fail while continuous blending trimix. My mixing stick does a good job, but the helium got a little bit off balanced while I was dialing it in. Go...
I recently purchased a used RIX SA-6B. It seems to be in very good shape. I was wondering if there is much I can do to reduce the intake noise? This compressor seems overall a little quieter than my Bauer was, but the intake noise is noticeably louder. I have it currently plumbed to a home built...
Well just to throw this out, since I reccommended against the compressor on another forum already, that third stage is probably not blown out. Its a messed up design. I am looking for a 3rd stage guide cylinder for my poseidon ATM. Its actually open right there and you can see the 3rd stage high...
I would be very concerned about the condition of the compressor since if it was run backwards the lubrication system was probably not pumping oil. The black oil is indicative of overheating and possible near siezing of aluminum parts. Near seizing would certainly cause the motor to trip out. I...
You picture is from August Industries. I am sure they have the parts you need, and they definitely have the expertise to help you. Super people to deal with!!
I'm not sure a solenoid valve is what your after unless your going to be running a fully automated system. Most home setups I have seen the O2 comes off a regulator and then a needle valve is used to throttle the O2 flow up or down to the mixing stick to achieve the desired mix.
Have the...
I am starting to look forward in my project for a moisture separator and a filter housing, as well as back pressure and check valves. Does anyone have anything in good used condition they are wanting to sell or trade.
I need something that can process up to 7cfm at max 4500psi working pressure...
Since noone answered my post, I will respond with what I found. Hopefully this info will be helpful to someone in the future. The piston liner/sleeve is just pressed into the cast part by hand. On mine it had been painted in when a previous owner possibly painted the compressor. A bit of...
I am working on a 1996 Poseidon compressor. The 3rd stage is basically Bauer. It has the typical capitano floating piston/liner.
Is there a trick to removing the liner/sleeve? It looks like it just slides in. Does it need to be arbor pressed out or something?
Thanks for the help.
Cheers, Walt
