    Green Water in Destin

I have only been diving a little over 3 years, but I have been in the gulf a lot. The water this weekend was very greenish. I have never seen it like that. The vis wasnt terrible, but all the green tinge made the viz seem bad. Any explanations?

We "tried" to dive the snorkel reef on the sound side today (Oct 19). There was very little viz, you could barely see your hand in front of your face. On the sound side there are 2 snorkeling areas (about 10-15 ft deep) We were told there were stacked concrete disks out there. One of the...

Okay, we finaly got it the off. We were trying to remove the black housing under the dome. But all you have to do is pop off the clear plastic dome by gently prying the dome off with a large needle like tool. We didnt realze that the dome was just a dome. We thought the dome had a housing...

    Oceanic Veo 100nx battery change?

Its time to change the battery in my Oceanic VEO 180 and we cant get the clear plastic cover (hatch) off. A few years ago my husband changed our sons battery in his VEO 100 and it was a little tricky. I dont think there is anything holding it but the fact that the o-ring is tight. I really...

Why are so many female divers codependent?

Come on be fair. I am not saying women aren't mechanical, etc. ( I am very mechanical, probably more than most men) I was saying that men are naturally protective of women (yes by design). And I don't know many women who dont appreciate that trait in a man. I guess I should have said...

Why are so many female divers codependent?

One of the reasons we have been happily married for 33 years is because we know our roles. If I had to I could assemble my own gear. But he wants to. so I guess I would fall into that codependent wife diver category. I don't think it is a culture thing , or because women are not mechanical...
