I have only been diving a little over 3 years, but I have been in the gulf a lot. The water this weekend was very greenish. I have never seen it like that. The vis wasnt terrible, but all the green tinge made the viz seem bad.
Any explanations?
We dove Destin on Friday and Ithink the coldest we read was 76degrees and that was at 80 feet, and even then there were folks in shorts. I wore 5 mils (ha ha). I think most folks were wearing 1-3 m
We "tried" to dive the snorkel reef on the sound side today (Oct 19). There was very little viz, you could barely see your hand in front of your face. On the sound side there are 2 snorkeling areas (about 10-15 ft deep) We were told there were stacked concrete disks out there. One of the...
We got it out a few minutes after I posted. The problem was my husband was thinking the black ring was part of the clear dome . Is is not. He was trying to ge the get the black ring off. Actually the clear dome is independent. We finally took a fine embrodiery needle and got the edge of the...
Okay, we finaly got it the off. We were trying to remove the black housing under the dome. But all you have to do is pop off the clear plastic dome by gently prying the dome off with a large needle like tool.
We didnt realze that the dome was just a dome. We thought the dome had a housing...
We finally got the clear dome cover off. We didnt realze that the dome was just a dome. We thought the dome had a housing underneath it. To get to the battery you dont have to remove the plastic housing .......just the dome which is on top of the ring. We were trying to make it harder than...
Crazy Fingers, we are having the same problem with our veo 180. Do you remember what you did to remove the clear cover (hatch) We actually changed a battery in oceanice veo 18 a0nd problems removing the clear plastic battery cover. I seem to remember it was just stuck, but I cant remember what...
Its time to change the battery in my Oceanic VEO 180 and we cant get the clear plastic cover (hatch) off. A few years ago my husband changed our sons battery in his VEO 100 and it was a little tricky. I dont think there is anything holding it but the fact that the o-ring is tight. I really...
I am having trouble finding some basic info on diving the Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary and Artificial Reef. Someone said they think it opened for divers on Oct 1, 2012
Does anyone know:
How deep it is is?
How far off shore it is?
Do you dive it with the tides>
Is there ample parking?
Is...
Well, here we are in Orange Beach on Sat. afternoon, three days after Isaac made landfall in NOLA. We called around and could find no boats in Gulf Shores or Pensacola going out until at least Monday. We called a few Panama City Beach shops and a were told by the few that went out, and the...
I am trying to ask serious questions, but I can't stop laughing.
Here are my serious questions.....
Is it worth diving the Panhandle or Gulf Shores this weekend after Isaac is stirring things up today.
Will the gulf still be churned up 4 days after a cat 1 hurricane...
Hurricane Isaac made land fall in NOLA on Wed. morning. How will that effect diving this weekend in Gulf Shores, Al. and the panhandle?
Would it be too churned up to dive a few days later?
Thanks
The state park site makes it sound like there is shore diving at Sebastin Inlet. Or do you need a boat?
Are there any shore dives in the area?
Thank you,
Come on be fair. I am not saying women aren't mechanical, etc. ( I am very mechanical, probably more than most men)
I was saying that men are naturally protective of women (yes by design). And I don't know many women who dont appreciate that trait in a man.
I guess I should have said...
That is a valid point given the article makes it sound like he was a certified cave diver.
The link is below in blue. I dont know why it doesnt say wwww.
. Search Continues One Year Later for Cave Diver....
(1) I too doubted the "facts" mentioned, one reason I referenced the link
(2) The article evens mention the employee by name who supposedly let him in. If that is not correct I am very sorry for the employee who had his name smeared.
Scuba Steve (3) Why would this thread belong in the...
One of the reasons we have been happily married for 33 years is because we know our roles.
If I had to I could assemble my own gear. But he wants to. so I guess I would fall into that codependent wife diver category.
I don't think it is a culture thing , or because women are not mechanical...
The article gives insight into Ben McDaniel's families anguish over the last year.
Interestingly it also gave some facts that I didnt know:
describes Vortex Spring as one of the most dangerous underwater caves in the world,
said that a Vortex Spring employee unlocked the gate.
quotes a brother...
I am sorry but I wasnt sure where to put it,
The missing diver wasnt a certified caver diver....so would it belong in that category?
Also since no body has been found there is no firm conclusion that there was a death,....so would it belong in the RIP section?
