I can't comment on blue O2 specifically, but I did a reefs and wrecks on Emporer Divers that was the best dive experience that I've had to date. I was there in late december/early January and was a little chilly in a 3 mil shorty, with most people in 5 or 7 mil full wetsuits.

In many places you can. The last place I did it was in the Red Sea. However, while it gave me longer bottom times while using Nitrox, my gf used a 12L and we had to take that into account in our gas planning. A pony provides redundancy, where just adding a larger tank does not.
