I was able to get the tusa software that was emailed to me to work and connect to my nitek duo but not to my trio...however I also learned at that time that my duo only saved the last 50 dives lol
i actually tried that a few times and never could get it to work on windows 7, haven't tried recently but thats also because I still have this tiny acer netbook 32bit laptop that is worthless to sell so I keep it around just in case I ever need to run something on real windows xp
did anyone ever find the original dive rite software for the duo/trio? I even asked Lamar a few weeks ago and dive rite doesn't even have it anymore. I used the tusa software and it was able to connect to my duo but not my trio for some reason.
Does anyone know where I can locate this original EXE? I have a pair of dive rite nitek duo/trio and I have lost the copy of the logbook sync program and not even dive rite has a copy of the software anymore.
I believe the OP already has intro to tech but @LandonL , @cerich , myself etc would be happy to continue to assist him in his educational endeavors.
@RainPilot in all honesty, @NothingClever was one of the most over prepared and leadership quality students I've ever had the pleasure of...
I've dealt with this my entire life growing up learning to swim shortly after I learned to walk because my mother was a single parent that worked all the time and my grandmother took care of me as best she could but... Let's just say if I didn't learn to swim shortly after I learned to walk...
Here is a picture of me in 2011 at Cathy's (dive outpost) loading gear in to the truck for a visit to eagles nest And if you look closely you can see my hands I'm wearing blue nitrile gloves but you can't see is they're filled to the brim with lotion. This was during the period of time where I...
I can say very definitively it's not the water he's diving in. I recognize the condition with 100% certainty. As to what you can do about it, I couldn't tell you but I can tell you a number of things that haven't worked so far.
that's nearly idential to my method, I actually just made a new one at the shop yesterday. I don't run it in to a bucket though, I spool it on to another reel or on top of an unopened spool of line around the outside so when reeling it on to another reel to keep it from getting tangled/knotted
The only time I have actually needed more than half of my Larry Green reel with 350-400' of line on it in any cave environment to date has been exploration/virgin cave. For those situations I started carrying the orange reel from home depot pictured below with pre-knotted 10' increment line to...
This is what I decided to do, I wanted to use my wrist compass in a DSS mount and I wanted it to also remain easily detachable to put back on my wrist at any time. So with a Dremel, drill, and hyperfocused determination digging around stuff at the dive shop for stuff to "repurpose"
I used...
Daren was not just an "experienced" solo diver. Daren was one of the better cave divers I've known who regularly dove solo in caves ranging from easy silly stuff like little river to the nest and anywhere in between.
One thing to keep in mind, micro bubbles from decompression stress have been associated with increased platelet activation, to my knowledge there has never been a study evaluating the efficacy of aspirin/plavix/ticagrelor etc in the setting of decompression stress. This is a particular concern...
I mostly dive solo. I rarely do exploration with other people and I like the freedom to change my dive plan on a whim if I see a cool passage I want to check out and have the gas to do so.
Me personally, I would consider iwr if I felt the situation appropriate when weighing risk/benefit of a given scenario.
Would I ever teach a student to do so? The liability is staggering. To me it is similar to cave diving solo, I do it, a lot of others do it safely as well. However, no...
You might be surprised to find out the A700 is the only reg component in the scubapro line that out performs a hog. The mk17/25 do not out perform the d1 or bp1. The s600 does not out perform the hog 2nd. The a700 is an impressive piece though.
Corrected s700->a700
