Diving in Marseilles? Diving history there?

All good info, thanks. I will be in Monaco and Cassis in mid-April. Staying in Cassis for 2 nights then on up into Provence. Would like to dive. Are there specific shops that would be good? Do not want to go into Marseilles. water temp? opportunity to get clear conditions for photos? thanks

    Killed my DC1400

I am surprised that SL did not respond to the first time use as well. And I'll second Don on State Farm - also a good and relatively inexpensive policy here in Maryland. I have the DAN dive insurance, but although I have listed dive equipment with them... the cameras are not in there for...

    Killed my DC1400

I would also recommend that you reach out to the gang at Sealife. They are always good - particularly about new equipment problems. Too nice a system to pitch. And I always keep a spare camera with me. I have an older DC1000 model and a DC1200. Often have used both during serial dives when one...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

I would like to second Dan's comments below about your photos... You are doing great with composition. His comments about DOF/F-stop setting and about using strobe diffusers with "hot flash" are spot on. I am still learning underwater photography tricks, but I can share a principle for macro...

    Trip to Nassau Bahamas

I took both 3 and 5, wound up using the 5 and was very comfortable. A friend who brought a 3 only wound up cold. You will want a 5 for the wall dives. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Another BHB critter... this time ID help. As I was sorting through the photos from last week and doing ID this one drew me up short: Is this little guy a High Hat or a spotted drum? Looks like a High Hat, but his tail is turned so I can't see what would be his spotty area if he was a spotted...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Well, if Matt and I did not qualify as honorary trolls for the 3 consecutive days of BHB dives, we will still be honored to be considered defenders of the bridge! Can't wait for another season and more dives. Here is another little guy we ran into as we were on the way out of the water right by...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Here is another beautiful BHB critter - and a first time live for me anywhere. I just about lost my reg I was laughing so hard. I hope he thought I was just as funny looking. It was hard to hold the camera still. I took four pix to get this one reasonably good one. The work of the creator...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Looking forward to a dive or two at BHB, next week. Sounds like nearby reef dives maybe closed out by rough seas... Suggestions?

    Moisture munchers

DampRid is great *BUT* it is Calcium Chloride (CaCl2), which like its cousin Sodium Chloride, is corrosive I am always a little hesitant to use it in a way that would get inside delicate equipment. If you can isolate the Munchers from the CaCl2 dust or liquid, then it is very useful. Packing the...

    DC1400 video light addons?

I use one with my DC1200 in tandem with a flash unit and have experienced no leaking in several dives down to 80-90 feet. I suspect that the reports are exceptions rather than rules. Just make sure to follow the directions and service the O-rings as described in the documentation. Only issues I...

DC 1200 Turns on Turns off

Mine responds that way when there is insufficient charge to maintain the camera without running the battery all the way down. I assume it is a safety feature to prevent reducing the battery life.

DC1200 Battery charger? Internal? or External charger required

Replying to my own post for others info. Found a charger in a general camera gear box that is obviously for the DC1200. Matches the pictures on the web and works although has no SeaLife markings - Would suggest to company that they brand their accessories for easy ID.

DC1200 Battery charger? Internal? or External charger required

I have gone brain dead. Bought the DC1200 last year and got great pics in the Bahamas in March. Took it to Costa Rica and battery went dead on me overnight when I thought it would be charging. No pictures from the the 7 dive trip So have I gone senile (possible) and not remembered there was an...

    DC 1200 battery life

Like pillpusher, I have not had serious problems with two dives. I do notice that the batteries are near critical at the end, so I have to swap in new ones to review after the 2nd dive. Wondering still if I should just keep both for a spare or (buddy cam) loaner. Have the flash and flood on the...
