Wife will not let me dive without a dive master..

I work out of Patriot Scuba in Occoquan, just around the beltway and a few miles south of you. We have a very active dive club and are at Lake Rawlings as well as the Rappahannock Quarries every weekend and some weekdays. We would love to go diving with you.

    Cobalt 2?

Ron, All 3 computers have the latest software/firmware. I have calibrated them using the cardboard support on a wooden surface at the dive site and they all stay on one compass point, even when turning the 360 degrees. Mine stays around 230 degrees no matter what direction I point. My kids...

    Cobalt 2?

Ron, is there any path to upgrade a Cobalt to Cobalt2? I bought 3 last year; one for me and one for my 2 kids who dive, and have never been able to use the compass, nor have my kids. Most upsetting if now it is fixed after I sunk so much money into these.

Cobalt Firmware update is on the Atomic Website

I have 3 Cobalts, mine and two of my kids. Two took the update with no problem but the third stopped when it said transferring 7337 bytes. It stayed there and never progressed. The Cobalt is bricked with no display or power up. I tried the recovery procedure but when I plug the USB cable into my...

Our state is dying of the dehydration coach!

Agree it is one sided but you can't dispute the effects. I am not a hydrologist or geologist but eventually, one would hope, the drought will end and some of those aquifers will recharge. It was weird though, while I was watching it, I was enjoying "Freebird" when all of a sudden the whole video...

    Lost Camera at Spiegel Grove

I am an eternal optimist. My hope is someone who reads Scubaboard will find it on some distant shore and recognize it. It wasn't too log ago a camera made it all the way from Aruba (I think it was) to Key West and was ultimately reunited with its owner thanks to this board. I believe lightning...

Sealife DC1200 Camera at the Spiegel Grove

I started a thread in the Florida Conch Divers forum concerning my lost camera. It has been suggested I post here as well. Rather than have 2 parallel threads, please follow this link to the message. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/florida-conch-divers/416663-lost-camera-spiegel-grove.html It...

    Lost Camera at Spiegel Grove

I was on the surface negotiating a line to the mooring ball to descend. We were attached to the ball on the port crane. I had it in my left hand and it was attached to my BC with what I thought was a substantial retractor. Seas were a little rough Friday and I think I let go of the camera to get...

    Lost Camera at Spiegel Grove

Kick me in the *ss and call me stupid... :fail: I was involuntarily separated from my camera on Friday morning, April 6, 2012 at the Spiegel Grove. It is a Sealife DC1200. Should it turn up, the most easily identifiable pictures will be several from the Horizon Divers/Divers Direct Easter Egg...

    Vortex 3-18-2012

Guilty as charged. I find solutions to problems; I also find solutions where no problems exist...as in this case. I will say it one more time...I don't propose that idea be put in place. I think it is misguided and believe 100% in the concept of self reliance, self determination, and personal...

    Vortex 3-18-2012

Absolutely. I meant only to demonstrate it could be done without any expensive or high tech equipment. That doesn't change the fact that it is both impractical and fraught with other issues.

    Vortex 3-18-2012

I don't want to cause drift again, but I am compelled to reply regarding a signalling system. I'm going to throw this out there not because I think it is a good idea (I don't) but to illustrate there is a simple solution. This would basically be a technical solution to a training problem, hence...

    A "Custom"ized Thank You

An awesome BC, made even better with cool colors! I love my Ranger, even in basic black. Let's give props to the best dive shop around too, where your picture was taken! It's Patriot Scuba in Occoquan, VA. Have fun on your trip, and don't forget all of us left behind, slaving away and freezing.

Key West Fla Dive shop recommendation.

I loved Subtropic, and have used them with great success...until this year. I was in Key West for a week in January, April, and July. I scheduled several trips with Subtropic each time, and never went out with them once. Every trip was cancelled due to no other divers. As I explored other...

Mares Icon HD Net Ready Reviews and Dive Experiences

I got mine two weeks ago, but it seemed to have problems so I took it back to the dive shop for help. It has been over a week and they had no news for me last Friday. It had two problems, and I was hoping they would tell me I was doing something wrong but they weren't familiar enough with it...
