Have been diving with AL80's but went to HP120's and got a 30cf pony bottle with the Zeagle Razor Envoy Reg. 2 questions:
Was wondering the best way to mount the pony bottle so i can remove in water easily ( we have a closed transom boat and are stuck passing gear over gunnel from in the...
dont worry, i had an OOA when i started diving, my 1st dive was for lobster before i was certed and i ran OOA. you want to get used to diving and see how your air use is before you try adding more stuff to what your doing. enjoy the sights for a bit then start the hunt. You could also crack...
It isnt that big of a pain, when im going around the sails i usually pull it under to get to whatever side im going or toss it over a line, but it really isnt that big of a pita
I wouldnt say its ensures competence, but shows that you made an attempt at learning and helps release the shop of liability. People are sue happy and with Charters and parks especially it is a chance for a lawsuit, and I imagine with a shop filling a tank it opens them up more to a possibility...
Laptop I would highly recommend, I have issues with the school network getting tempermental, but we have like 3-4 different wifi access spots, and wired network hubs with different orgins around the buildings I hang out at. At a minimum i could make it through school with a desktop at home...
I say rent a variety or borrow some gear here and there, then buy. If not then you can shop around and figure about 800-1200 for a decent computer, nice BC and nice reg. You can always buy used or clearance stuff. Tanks are something that the savings of buying them takes time to build up...
I say just with air fills, tanks they can bump up to 500 psi or so you cant use them. My reasoning is so you can have a non certed person (spouse or really good friend) can buy you stuff and not worry. Gift certificates are kinda lame and if you open a reg or something from your GF or wife on...
The area the divers were in IS NOT a channel, It should be treated as open water. Meaning if you can avoid it to avoid approaching dive flags you should do it. If the boat was too big to pass in the channel then it was legally in the OK to pass in the "east channel" to me this is a matter of...
I sling my GF's tank, and when she is rigged if its a shore spot i offer to carry her rig but she carrys her own anyways. I do it to be a gentleman, I help her rig up if she is taking too long, but she knows my gear where im confident that all i have to do is tell her my weight for the day if i...
That isnt a restricted area so they are allowed to use it, only problem is IF he is small enough to fit under the bridge in the channel then he didnt take action to avoid dive flags. IMHO if i had a boat that didnt easily fit under a bridge i would not navigate under that bridge and use jupiter...
It's not that dumb of a suggestion, you should be able to see the clearance as a witness, and you should know your boat which is why they have a bridge clearance marking on the right side of the channel that shows how many ft you have. Idk if the coastguard plackard would display that info, but...
If his boat is capable of fitting under the area between the walls since that is set up as the channel (I double checked that the signage dictates that as the channel if you follow any of the boaters safety rules) and if his boat could navigate through the guided area he didn't make a reasonable...
Divers need to stay out of the channel and be careful of that so we recieve no backlash, with the sail boats using to the east of the channel they are somewhat in the wrong since the channel is desigated by the retaining walls. Since BHB is a fixed bridge they should be using Jupiter if they...
i dive with Hoseless AI and have the trans drop occasionally. I base it on my last check time and what the gauge is flashing at. if its been a little while, and link wont come back on, where im uncomfortable i call the dive. I dove with the SPG and AI for a few dives and saw i lost link once...
i dont know if people actually hate the ripcord or if they just hate rethreading it. I like how simple it is and that it will probably never fail, but it seems like a very cheap design (weedeater line) and rethreading seems like it can possibly be a headache
Alot of the dive shops here have them, If not I know Force-e in riviera beach stocks them, and im sure there is a LDS down there that sells them since the Company is based out of Zepherhills
Im on my 2nd zeagle, First was a Night Runner that all the velcro was worn on, a weight pocket was starting to rip off, and it was faded brown. Zeagle extimated 100 for repair including shipping so since it was ugly i figured buy a new Ranger. I love Zeagle BC's
Sorry to hear about your loss Flowerpower. Threads like this often get ugly because we all have various standards of what is acceptable and what is not (how traditional and how much redundancy in your dive rig you allow for equipment failures, yet trying to keep it a sport you can enjoy)...
